My room had just been refurbished, and was very clean and modern, in fact compared to my last stay at a 4 star hotel, it was better, and less than half the price

“Good value London Hotel”

The hotel is clean and good value for money and the staf are friendly and helpfuk.

“Quite Cheap and Not So Cheerful”

Ten minutes walk from Victoria Station in an area of London populated with similar hotels. It was clean but showing its age. Large bundles of laundry were piled on stairs and vacuum cleaners were on the landings -potential obstacles in emergency evacuation. My single room was the smallest hotel room I have stayed in, a bit wider than the single bed and the wardrobe in the room would make it awkward to move a large suitcase around. The shower room was tiny and the wash basin overlapped the toilet. Towels provided were clean but far from new, there was shower gel and shampoo but no soap. I stayed in a front room and traffic noise was not a problem as it is not a main thoroughfare. The sound insulation in the hotel is poor and every noise made in adjacent rooms, the room above and the corridor and stairs was clearly audible including some sounds I would rather not have heard. A safety chain on the door was broken. The small valuables safe was perched on the wardrobe over six feet off the floor making it impossible for most people to use it without standing on the bedroom stool. Tea and coffee and a kettle were provided and a hairdryer. The hotel has no drinks licence and only provides english or continental breakfast which was fine but they stick strictly to the times set out in their guide. The TV had Freeview but the reception was so patchy it was too annoying to watch. It is only a five minute walk to Pimlico where there are numerous bars and restaurants. I won't' be back.

“Disappointing”

I booked a classic room which is meant to be superior. There were photos of the room on the hotel website and photos of a bathroom which I imagined would have been similar to what we might have expected The room itself was OK but the shower room was no bigger than a closet and bore no resemblance to any of the photos!. If I had paid the full advertised price for this room I would have demanded my money back - as it was we got a discounted rate on Expedia so I accepted that we got what we paid for however it was very disappointing as I expected a bit more.

“Defective Shower.”

I stayed in room 24 which shared a bathroom with three other rooms. This had a defective shower which was pactically unusable. I reported this defect to the front office manager but felt that the complaint was not taken seriously.
