“You Get What You Pay For”

Conveniently located if you need a stopping point from the train before flying out of town, the George Hotel's location was its best feature. Sharing the bathrooms were fine, but the rooms were so small that it really is just a place to rest your head. The tight stairwells made it extremely difficult for big suitcases. The reception staff continued to stress there no frill approach (no we can't mail your postcards, no there is no ice, no one will be available between 10PM and 7:30AM. However, for the price the room was clean, the bed was adequate, the internet was functional, the breakfast was very good, and the fan offered enough background noise to drown out the Barcelona revellers after the Championship League final. If I was in need of a place close to the train station, and if I didn't have my wife with me, I would consider going back.

“great budget hotel”

No lift, so be prepared to walk up steps to upper floors. nice staff. Very close to a small shopping center (French Connection, Next, United Colors..., GAP, etc), pubs, and internet cafes. Within 5min walking distance of the Russell Sq tube station and Kings Cross EuroStar station. Also within walking distance of the British Museum.

“Convenient without convenience”

Staff were extremely helpful. However the room was basic beyond extreme. Not any bigger than a cell without toilet facilities in room.

“Our room was a basement dungeon”

When we booked our hotel through Expedia.ca, the photos showing the rooms in the George Hotel website were very impressive. However, when we checked in at the hotel, we were given a small room(for 3 people) in the basement. The room was small and very hot. Our window was by the garbage dump. We were given a small table fan which we had to leave it on 24 hours. Since we had paid for the four nights in advance, we had no choice but to stay at the George Hotel for the entire period. There are other better hotels in the same area.

“Convenient Location”

The hotel was conveniently located between the St-Pancras and Euston Underground/Train Stations - both within walking distance if you aren't carrying a lot of luggage. Breakfast was great! There are pubs and coffee shops within walking distance, too. There aren't any lifts, so be prepared to carry luggage to upper floors. When leaving we asked the desk to call for a Taxi for us and were a little uneasy when an unmarked taxi showed up. He took us to Euston, but dropped us off across and down the street - I'm guessing because he was illegal and couldn't pull up to the station. We got a taxi so we wouldn't have to drag our luggage any further than necessary so this was not a good last impression of the hotel services.

OK - clean and tidy, but dining area far too small - highly congested at times.

“George Hotel”

Farily clean and nice breakfast room. The room I was in was too small on the third floor. The stairs are narrow and no elevator is available. I had to carry two heavy bags by myself - no luggage service. There is no attendant at night so you are on your own. No one even answers the phone to take a wake-up message.

“Bien placé , mais......”

Avec ma femme nous nous sommes retrouvé dans une sorte de grenier avec plusieur chambres . Toute personnes qui passaient dans le couloir faisait trembler le lit . douche et wc sont dans le couloir. Seul point positif : bien situé Sinon tres tres tres decu qu'on me propose un hotel comme celui la vu le tarif assez important.
