“hotel was fine”
hotel was fine and was near the tube station i wasnt so keen on the area it didnt feel that safe walking to the tube and back at night .but it is on a main road
“A Good Option for The Doclands Area”
I had to delay my trip due to extremely adverse weather. The hotel was very understanding despite an inflexible booking and I was able to travel 24 hrs later. The staff were friendly, the rooms comfortable and the hotel is convenient for the Excel Centre. Overall good value and recommended.
“so much more than expected”
on completion of booking this hotel i was concerned that it might be in a bad area or that travel around london would be difficult.i couldn;t have been more wrong.the hotel is only a short walk to the limehouse dlr station which connects you to all networks within the city for only a few pounds per day. the surrounding area is quiet and trouble free. the hotel was spotless and the staff were always very helpfull.rooms excellent ,breakfast more than adequate .all in all, so much more than i had expected for a great price .certainly my base for my next london adventure.
“Perfect location for Docklands and O2”
Hotel met my expectations. Comfortable, clean rooms and not too noisy. Breakfast very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. No restaurant but staff will order local takeaways with free delivery. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. I booked this hotel because I was attending a convention at the O2 Arena and it took me just 20 mins to get there via the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and Jubliee line on the Underground from Limehouse station, which is just 5 mins walk from the hotel. Canary Wharf takes about 15 mins and central London is easy as well.
“A good hotel for one or two night stay”
Surrounding area was a bit suspect, walking back from the DLR late at night but apart from that it was absolutely fine.
“Overall a good experience”
Handy free car park. First floor reception up a turning staircase, so could be awkward to access for less able-bodied folk. Cheerful, chatty welcome from staff at reception. Clean and tidy bedroom and bathroom. A bit stuffy in the room due to no aircon but opening the window helped. Bed was a bit too springy and unsupportive for my liking, but despite that I managed to get a full night's sleep. About 5 minutes walk from Limehouse DLR station and then 25 minutes train and tube ride from the West End. Surroundings may be considered a bit grim - it's next to a ready mixed concrete depot but that matters not a jot once you close the door to your room. Fair bit of background traffic noise. Overall, for the money I paid, it was good value, in a convenient location, clean and tidy and friendly. I would stay here again under similar circumstances.
“Could do better!”
Although in general we (three couples on a weekend theatre break) were quite well pleased with the hotel, the bar was very poorly stocked. On our first evening of our two-night stay, the one blend available of Scotch Whisky almost ran out and the vodka did run out. The barman, though very polite and convivial, did not seem to know if there was more of these spirits in storage and did nothing to ascertain this, though we settled for beers instead. However, the next evening the apparent stock situation of these spirits was unchanged and one of my friends elected to have a single whisky as there was clearly not enough for a large measure. The barman ( a different one from the previous evening) did not offer him 'the barman's nip' - the remainder in a bottle short of a full measure which , in Scotland, is almost traditionally offered free to the customer ordering the last full measure. We joked with him about it but he clearly was inexperienced and did not catch on to our good-humoured promptings. Again he did nothing to ascertain if more was in storage. I therefore had a beer instead then adjourned elsewhere!!! Despite this we would use the hotel again but drink elsewhere!!!! Continental breakfast was very satisfactory.
“Well located between Canary Wharf and Tower Bridge”
The room was clean and well appointed with tea and coffee making facilities and extra pillows We had a quiet room at the back of the hotel. There was secure parking but it cost extra per day. The breakfast was included and it had a variety of continental breakfast choices. There was no cooked food for breakfast and the restaurant attached to the hotel was closed for the whole time we were there. However on the first night when we had expected to eat at the hotel, the friendly staff at the reception rang for a pizza delivery and notified us when the food had arrived. The hotel provided plates and cutlery, and a coffee machine for a small fee, so we ate the pizza in the breakfast area. We had to pay per hour to use the internet in the room and discovered that if we did not activate the card at the time shown on the card, we could not use that time, even though we had paid for it. The hotel is located five minutes walk from Limehouse Station on the DLR. It was two stops from theTower Gateway where there were many restaurants or you could go the opposite way to Canary Wharf which also has many restaurants. The hotel is about 30 minutes slow walk to Tower Bridge via Wapping. Overall we had an enjoyable experience.
“Expensive”
Very plain but does not deserve more than 30 pounds
“Not as good as sister hotel at Canning Town”
Had a family room with no pillows for extra bed. Staff member on check in was confused as to our identity and chose not to answer my questions about the local area. Room was clean and breakfast was good. Had to pay for internet access which was gratis at sister hotel in Canning Town.
