“basic but location not great”
The hotel itself was ok- clean enough and breakfast was decent but the location really let it down. Not the nicest area and there is not much near in terms of decent bars or resturants. Also we booked a double room and were given one with twin beds -not the best when you are on a romantic weekend away!
“Great Location, Great Hotel.”
This hotel is a perfect location for exploring London as it is just a few tubes stops from the centre. Room was lovely - spacious and clean. the area around the hotel isn't great but we didn't spend much time there so it was ok. Would definitely stay again.
“Basic hotel done well”
The hotel met all my expectations: comfortable beds, clean and well maintained, polite and effective staff, safe location, and close to transportation links. The closest tube stations are actually West Brompton Station and West Kensington, which are both a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Despite the hotel's name, Earl's Court is actually a bit further out (about 8 minutes walk from the hotel). It's a basic hotel, so no dining options in the hotel itself, no mini bar in the rooms, and no room service etc. I did not feel the lack of these services since there were lots of dining options along North End Road, and there are grocers in the area as well as a supermarket, which is about 3 minutes walk from the hotel. And you can always order in. Breakfast is included and is available from 7 - 11 am. If you're going to need internet service, it is extra. Unless you need it for a very short period, you're probably better off just getting short term data service from a local phone company. Being that it is London, the rooms and beds run small (as compared to the US). Also, the hotel has this energy conservation system with heat and light, where your room key is needed to turn on the lights and heat. It takes a while (5 - 10 minutes) for the heat to turn on, which was a bit inconvenient. Once it was on it was fine. I stayed there for about a week, and other than having to wait for the heat to turn on, I had no problems. I would stay there again.
“Good value for package paid.”
The things that annoyed us where only the very soft bed and the very hard sofa bed used by the children. The clenliness, in the room and all the hotel was very good an is one of the first things we look for with little kids. We noticed staff cleaning in various times of the day which is very good. We noticed also one of the staff during breakfast who we admired for her non stop activity to keep the breakfast food available all the time, while also coping to clear the tables for other customers to sit. She was very good.
“Simple and Clean”
I only stayed for one night, and it was a good place for a short stay. It is possible a longer stay would result in a higher rating. It is closer to the airport than the more expensive downtown hotels; however, it is not very convenient to downtown sights and is a several block walk to the tube. The rooms are small but new, bright and clean. The staff were helpful and the value was very good.
“Great price and service”
The rooms are quite small so it was a tight fit for a family of four but the location was convenient to the sites in London and the service from staff was excellent. The breakfast was good too!
“Get what you pay for.”
As a mid priced London Hotel, you get what you pay for: Positives - location is central to three tude stations (each about a five min walk) that allow quick and easy access to london. By london standards the rooms ar quite bib and the bathrooms are good. Breakfast is simple but filling. Negatives - the staff generally have english as a second language. service from the front desk is the min required. don't htink I saw a single staff member smile or say "good morning / evening:" during our whole time there. Overall - if you are looking for a comfortable room to base yourself out off while spending your time looking at the sights of London then this will meet your needs. If you are looking for a hotel to spend relaxing time at with a friendly and approachable attitude, then look else were.
“Worst customer service of my life”
This hotel is clean and in a nice part of London, easily accessible by Tube, etc. However, the hotel staff are the most inconsiderate, unhelpful, and downright rude people I have ever encountered. Even though I booked the room 2 months in advance, they did not have the room available to me that I had requested -- instead of a double bed, my husband and I were given two small twin beds without any apology or explanation. My husband struggles with insomnia, and was unable to sleep a wink the whole night due to the cramped, uncomfortable bed. Most upsetting was the way the matter was handled by hotel staff. My husband and I were not treated as valued guests, but rather as nuisances at the bottom of the totem pole. When speaking to someone at the front desk, we were continually ignored or pushed aside to answer phone calls. We always made an effort to be polite, but never received a single apology. When my husband called the front desk to ask about using a calling card on the room phone, he was yelled at that we could not use our room phone except to call within the hotel. There is a phone in the lobby that we discovered on our last day there by which guests can use international calling cards, but we were never told about it. I was also disappointed by the lack of Internet access. I would never recommend this hotel and indeed am never staying at a Holiday Inn again!
“good hotel”
good hotel. a bit far away from EARLS COURT neighbourhood, but very near a convinient bus stasion. childers sofa could be much better. breakfast OK, but a little boring(every day the same)
“Small but clean - good location!”
TRANSIT This hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the West Kensington Tube Station in Zone 2. It was a very busy station so my Mom and I didn't feel we uncomfortable at all even when coming home at 11PM. There are two buses that stop at the front door of the hotel (Lillie Road stop): the 391 and the 28. Take these whenever you can to avoid the chaos of the Tube. ROOM Small but very clean and comfortable. There were two twin-beds in our room. A shower but no bathtub. And only shelves - no dresser. VERY quiet! Internet not free. BREAKFAST Very busy and often hard to get a seat. Same thing every day - cold cereals; yogurts; cheese. Apple and orange juices. Whole and low fat milks. Chocolate pastry; croissants; wheat bread and a toaster. Beans; scrambled eggs; and sausage.
