“Great value and location”

Staff were extremely helpful, breakfasts were filling (much more than doughnuts and Danishes served in US), room was small but clean with toiletries, and hotel was close to three underground stations (Euston Square is right below the hotel, not to be confused with Eustan Station two blocks away, and Warren Street is one block away on Tottenham Court Road.

Area recommendations
Soho and Covent Gardens for the shopping and nightlife, and of course all the historical sites and free museums. Do take a day excursion to Windsor to see the castle and village. The pub across the street is historical and serves great beer and food, and the village has great shopping as well.
Getting around
I have an iPad and found the app Lodon2go very useful for walking, using the tube, and providing background for historical sites, pubs, restaurants, etc.

“Not impressed”

The access to the tube was very convenient. There was a station located around the corner and Warren Street Station two blocks away. So if easy access to transportation is what your main goal is, this is the place to stay. The breakfast buffet was very good and the staff was very friendly. However, that being said, my first impression of the room was that I had mistakenly booked us in my idea of a hostel. When they say minimalist decor, they aren't kidding. The rooms are small and uninviting. The lighting is dim at best but, to be honest, we found that problem in most of the hotels we stayed in. The carpet in our room needed a good wash and the shower stall was as small as a telephone booth. If you try to wash your face in the sink be careful you don't knock your head on the faucet and get water all over your clothes. Although college students from the nearby university would not mind the room, they probably wouldn't want to spend the money. If you are seeking a pleasant room that you look forward to returning to after a long day of sightseeing, this is not the place for you unless all you want to do is sleep. There are no chairs in the room. I would not book this hotel again and would not recommend it to my friends unless there were no other options available.

“Sufficient”

Not a great hotel. Not a terrible hotel. Convenient to several tube stops. Bed left a bit to be desired. Shower is tiny! Breakfast was pretty good. Overall pretty average for London, unless you want to pay more or spend a lot of time in your room. Neither of which I am interested in while in London. I would much rather enjoy the city and spend my money on shopping.

Area recommendations
Kensington. Nice High Street. Quiet neighborhood. Convenient tube. Beautiful area.

“Modern and clean, great breakfast buffet”

Lovely, modern hotel just off Euston Road about 10 minutes walk from the main St Pancras station but a tube station on the circle and district lines is just outside the door. Chocolates and mints in the room a nice touch along with tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast buffet was great. Not many shelves to put things and the room did not get very dark at night plus it was a little noisy so I would recommend earplugs and an eyemask. Otherwise an excellent hotel. We stayed for four nights and I would definitely recommend.

Area recommendations
Piccadilly Line or Victoria Line from St Pancras down to central London, or you can take the circle or district lines around to Westminster. Good "quick" restaurants in the little complex outside the Euston overland station eg Nando's and a Sainsbury's supermarket. Also a Pizza Express up the road and many other cafes.

“Wonderful experience”

I would definitely recommend this hotel to all able-bodied people. Not sure about wheelchair accessibility. Steps up from the street to enter, although there may be a ramp for access somewhere on the property. We (myself and 3 grown kids-family vacation) stayed for 6 days/nights. We had 2 rooms, each with two single beds. The service at the desk was helpful and informative. The cleaning service was good. The Continental breakfast is one of the best we've had anywhere. The only drawback was the size of the rooms, but they seem to all be small no matter which hotel you stay in. The second last night of our stay, the bathroom sink actually broke into 2 pieces (weird!) in the room I was sharing with one of my kids, and the front desk called the next morning and asked if we wanted to change rooms. We declined, but it was nice that they offered. (With only 1 more night to go, we didn't want to haul everything we brought to another room/floor. We just used our other room's sink for the night.) The hotel is directly around the corner from the Tube, and only a couple blocks away from a bus station. The British Library is just down trhe street and the British Museum is a few blocks south on the same street. Excellent location and good service. We would definitley recomend this hotel to friends and would return to stay ourselves.

Area recommendations
The first time I was in London (2008) I stayed in the Mayfair neighborhood. This was a business trip and I didn't pay for the room. The neighborhood is right in the center of the city. Very convenient if you can afford it. This last time when I took my family (3 grown children) we stayed in the Euston Square neighborhood, sort of northwest of the city center. Still convenient due to a tube station right there, but not as much in the middle of things. Much more affordable than the Mayfair neighborhood though. I'm not sure that there's a bad place to stay in London. With the public transportation system they have there, it's easy to get anywhere you want to go. With an Oyster card, you just scan it and hop on the tube or a bus, even some trains, and away you go! There are a couple fun pubs and a good Italian restaurant within walking distance of Euton Square Hotel as well.
When to go
We went in mid-October, just after the tourist season but before the weather turned cold. We had sun and highs in the low to mid 60's the whole time. Went a few years ago in November for work. Chilly but not freezing. October weather was great!
Getting around
Oyster card is a must! You can purchase them on line and they'll be mailed to you. Just need to do that far enough in advance that you get them before you leave. We also purchased a London Pass. This enabled us to forgo the long lines for tickets, but be careful how you plan your activities. We ended up losing a bit of money because we didn't know the London Eye was rented out for private use the evening we had planned to board it. All our other sight seeing venues that cost money were scheduled around a 3 day pass, but we couldn't fit everything in in the 3 days we thought we could. For example, the Tower of London we had scheduled for a couple hours, but ended up being there for 5 hours, so that pushed everything else out of schedule, so we didn't use the pass as efficiently as we thought we would.
Other
What I liked especially were the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, the Hampton Court Palace, and the V&A museum. The British Museum was interesting too, as well as the Tower of London. Lots of very neat things to visit and do!

“good value hotel”

Good location, good price for a convenient London hotel. Excellent breakfast - far more than expected for "continental". Smallest room I have ever stayed in (and I've travelled a lot!).!!
