“More than I expected.”

After reading a somewhat derogatory review on this hotel, I was hoping it would be all right for my husband and I who were in Europe to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. I suspect that the other guest was the type who is grumpy and never satisfied with anything. The staff with whom we had exchanges were a real plus at this hotel. Theyt were cheerful, kind and helpful. The only suggestion for improvement would be the complimentary breakfast because the cereals and bread for toasting were not the hardy whole grains that we prefer;instead they were corn flakes and "rice krispies" and white bread. One of the very kind males on staff said he had made the suggestion to management to offer an English Breakfast. I think that would make the hotel more competitive. We asked for a bathroom in our room due to our age and needs during the night. We did get our wish. The climb up 8 flights of stairs to our room was a bit of a challenge, but a good cardio workout! The street noise out front might bother some guests more than it did us. The underground station was about a block away from this hotel. Very convenient.

“Hotel for people with slim bagages”

The hotel's location is excellent: next to the Clapham park and the South Clapham underground station. The hotel itself is a typical 70s-80s-90s British build meaning floor and stairs are squicky and the passages to the rooms are quit tight in diameter. Not recommended for XXL people nor to the people that are not heavy sleepers. It is highly recommended for youngsters.

“Nicest personnel, great location. I recommend with no doubt!”

I stayed in the hotel in January, 2011, with my boyfriend. We arrived there earlier than the check-in time and we got a room promptly. The personnel is super friendly, especially the receptionist in the overnight shift. He helped us a lot and made us feel like home. The hotel is not a 5 star, but if you're looking for something affordable and a great location, Euro Clapham is the best option. I recommend 100%.

“Excellent value for a quick overnight stay”

For the money I didn't have high hopes, but it was a pleasant surprise how friendly the staff were and although basic, the facilities were absolutely perfect for a quick overnight stay. It was a great bonus being able to park the car in the small parking area and at only a tenner for a day it was added peace of mind whilst enjoying our overnight stay in London. Having read some of the reviews prior to travelling I was mildly concerned but I reckon this hotel is excellent value for money providing you aren't expecting the Ritz!!! Breakfast is a little basic, but again you cant expect much for the sort of value you are getting! (Perhaps a proper coffee machine or a jug of filter coffee would be better than a sachet of freeze dried granules though). I would definitely use the hotel again for another overnight stay - it was conveniently situated near Clapham tube station, and within 30 minutes walk of Brixton Academy (or a 5 min taxi ride at under a tenner!). All in all not bad at all!!!

“Excellent Location”

Great hotel in the exact location we needed, would recommend it to people that need a hotel in London for a cheap overnight stay! Considering the hotel is close to such a busy road, our room was silent and we both slept very well.

“You get what you pay for”

Cheap hotel. No elevator. TV did not work. Window in bad need of repairs. Breakfast is toast or rice crispies. Room and hotel was always HOT and heater was off. We kept the window wide open our entire visit. Shower water preasure was next to nothing. Very close to tube station. Easy access to downtown London (1 direct train). Good restaurants near by, internet cafe ($1/hour) near by, groceries near by. If you are not facing the street it is not too loud. For the price I paid I got what I paid for.

“Functional for the price”

Aesthetically not really a great place but if you don`t mind holes in the wall etc it is no big deal however. The place was clean enough, reasonably quiet , very convenient location to the tube to get downtown. Stairs were narrow and very awkward. Staff were pleasant and helpful. I would stay there again for budget reasons only.

“Hmmmm”

The bed squeaked. a lot. On the first morning, locksmiths came in at about 9.30am to change the locks. the reception hadn't warned me about this, if they had I would have arranged myself to be out and about! I had planned to have one morning relaxing, but this was not possible. The locksmiths said it wouldn't take long at all, but my bedroom door was wide open and unlocked for about 3 hours. It is NOT a good feeling, when you feel that your belongings are unsafe in a hotel room! Also, the bathroom was TINY - there wasn't even enough room to put a small bar of soap at the sink! and the water from the shower was a mere dribble, it made it difficult to wash. Apart from that, the hotel was fine. Breakfast was basic but sufficient, staff were friendly and helpful.
