“Nice hotel/great location”
The hotel is charming. the guestrooms are quite small but that's fine. The hotel is located 2 minutes from Paddington Station which is a great advantage in getting around the city. The staff was always willing to help. We were withihn walking distance of Oxford Street and Hyde Park.
“Great Location; Just a Place to Sleep”
The room was quite small (as are most in London) but had its own bathroom and was well maintained. Breakfast was toast, cereal, yogurt, and ham. Internet access is 5 pound per day, but the connection was horrible- I wasn't able to log on. Bed was comfortable and just a couple of blocks away from Paddington Station for Rail and the Underground. I wouldn't necessarily stay there again, but it was convenient and clean.
“london hydee park hotel”
Ok, but expensive and small. Paid for parking and wifi. Elevator, cleast was good. Stayed last days at airport hotel. Almost a third the cost for a better room and only required an 8 pound day ticket which made London round trip by train with city buses and underground travel unlimited. This made for a much more enjoyable city visit with much less walking and yet able to see much more.
“Paddington's delight”
we stayed here two years ago and we have repeated it again this year. The service is excellent and the rooms are bright and airy and very clean. Would recommend this hotel as being well worth the money in an excellent location. Very much a home away from home.
“Good for London”
Room was extremely small, as would be expected. Had beds and was down a small flight of stairs from the 2nd floor. Heavy door btwn the bedroom and the bathroom that demanded that one person NOT be at the foot of the bed closest to the door. So, recommended for those who work well with others! Location is superb. Short walk from Paddington. I would absolutely stay there next time in London.
“Yes, but!”
The hotel is very convenient near Paddington station. Good link for London Underground and Brit Rail. It is a one-block walking distance and you can conveniently roll your baggage to the hotel and do not need a taxi. Lots of moderately priced restaurants nearby. There is a 24-hour grocery/drug store also conveniently located. There is no launder-o-mat and the coin laundry two blocks away is quite expensive. One load of wash and dry can run you up to 10 pounds sterling. Hotel is not air-conditioned so if you are traveling when the weather is warm, (it was in September) it will be uncomfortable unless you like to risk keeping large the windows open. They provide a table fan if requested. Breakfast included and is very good, though on some days the water contained too much orange juice! Be prepared for the same breakfast menu every day. Choice of cereals, breads, cheeses, good coffee/tea machines, pancakes and fruit. The computer in the lobby is OK to check emails, but don't try to open video or picture files. It cannot do that very well. The front desk staff is very cooperative and helpful...the housekeeping is a bit slack. Sometimes forget to replenish tea/coffee/creamer etc. Nice to have a safe in the room for passports etc.
“Good customer service”
When we first arrived we were given the last available room-#105 which was like being in a closet in the basement-they should not have this room at the same rate-old, dingy, hot and the bathroom you could barely turn around in. But next day the staff was very apologetic and gave us a different room and that room was very nice., with newer furnishings and a good size bathroom. The customer service was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The hotel could use air conditioning though, had to use fans as the rooms were hot and stuffy. The location was very good, close to Paddington. I would recommend the hotel if you do not get rooms on the bottom floor.
“Good value hotel”
Hotel was in an excellent location. Room was very clean and comfortable. Our room was on the ground floor with our own entrance outside which I thoroughly liked as I could sit outside as there was a small table and chair and we had nobody passing our room and it was very quiet. Would recommend this hotel and would definately book again.
“Excellent Location!”
Great stay at Days Inn, Sussex's Gardens! 4 person room - everything we needed. Only problem was that there was no where we could leave the bags on our day of leaving to pick up later. The only place to leave them was the bar area where they weren't watched, meaning anyone could have picked them up. This was the only fault- the rest of our stay was perfect. Brilliant breakfast! Lovely Pancakes!
“Clean but cramped”
I can't fault this hotel on cleanliness, and location, but the room was extremely cramped, and the bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen! You could wash your hands in the sink whilst still sitting on the toilet. A wardrobe but no drawers for clothes, and the television was affixed to the wall in a wonky position with a terrible picture. Breakfast was continental only, no bacon and eggs! I didn't hate my stay there but I wouldn't choose to stay there again.
