Ideal for Gatwick Airport South, transfer is swift but 10 min walk in rain on arrival was painful. I'd prefer an on-site airport hotel and pay £20 a night more!

Convenient for early flight at Gatwick, car parking worked well, ticked all the boxes for beginning the holiday.

Poor customer service

Posted 12-Feb-2015
Poor experience. The airport shuttle cost 3 pounds for a 2 minute ride, the water in the room cost 3.75, there was no tissue in the bathroom, they gave me the wrong room....little things like this made this a poor experience. These are easy customer service items that made this a lousy stay. Don't nickel and dime the patron. And, Get it right!

Airport hotel with parking

Posted 11-Feb-2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: They should understand the meaning of customer service and transparency
Location: Its just the airport
This was supposed to be a pre-flight one night with parking for to leave the car whilst we were on holiday. We cancelled with some difficulty after discovering that the parking offered by the hotel (and the reason we booked it) was offsite. There is onsite parking BUT they charge £25 per day. Their offsite means that a third party comes and takes the car and parks it somewhere. I once used a similar scheme at Heathrow and I will NEVER use this type of parking again. I have no experience of the people this hotel uses so cannot comment but I am not prepared to risk my car on this type of parking ever again no matter who the company is. The hotel were unhelpful and obstructive and refused to give us our money back, it was a no-refund deal BUT it was sold less than honestly, not being clear about their 'parking'. However, Expedia were excellent and argued our case and when the hotel refused our refund Expedia gave us a full refund with no questions asked. This is excellent customer service from Expedia. The hotel chain should learn from this, they may have gained £56 for doing nothing BUT I will NEVER use any hotel in this chain again - however I will use Expedia and I will continue to recommend Expedia to my friends and family. One further note - in order to complete this survey I have had to rate the room, obviously I have no knowledge of tis so have marked them as 'average' there being no option of 'not applicable'.

Cons: subject above
The fees for internet, are too high, and in fact should be free to customers staying more than 1 night..Also charging for each item, is outrageous ....Most Hotels, internet is free...Sorry, and for that.... I'm OUT!!!!!!

Zakelijk bezoek

Posted 04-Feb-2015
Pros: Bar / restaurant
Internet is 12.99GBP per 24 uur, parkeren 25GBP per dag. Wijntje 7.50 aan de bar. Uiteindelijk is het dus zeker geen voordelig hotel. Ligging is prima.

Perfect for airport overnight stay

Posted 28-Jan-2015
I chose this hotel for its proximity to the airport (Gatwick) as i had an early flight the next morning. The shuttle system was not on time (20minutes late) but took me to my desired stop. The tiles in the bathroom area need either a deep clean or re-grouting. Scuff marks on the walls by the door. Wifi is a room charge (in this technological age it should be standard for all rooms -free). Over all pleasant overnight stay.

Overnight stays at Courtyard by Marriots Gatwick

Posted 20-Jan-2015
Pros: Cleanliness, helpful staff, convenience.
Cons: Apart from the bus drivers attitude, Nothing.
Location: Convenient fror both North and South terminals. Cannot comment on things to do nearby.
Everything was brilliant. As we get older, doing the trip from Shropshire to Gatwick then flying has become a chore. An overnight stay at an excellent facility is the answer. If I was to be hyper critical the main meals were only just value for money but the breakfast was very good and good value too. We shall definitely use the facility again and recommend it to others. Whilst nothing to do with the hotel I must express dismay at the attitude of the bus driver towards the fact that I am disabled, with a scooter and my wife had to struggle with two cases whilst I struggled to load the scooter. NO HELP WAS FORTHCOMING ATALL. This is true for both ends of each journey.

Normally love Marriott hotels

Posted 17-Jan-2015
Pros: Everything else just not the bar!
Cons: Bar & public areas
Location: N/a
Great hotel experience as always staff and rooms are second to none (room242) Stayed Thursday evening one night requested quiet room away from lifts... Honoured my Request. Our dislikes with Marriott Gatwick ;(( Bar food and restaurant food very very over priced ! quality/quantity/presentation of sandwiches, baked potatoes, chips, just Basic snacks were absolutely awful !! Next time will defiantly buy within the airport...even (M&S) would have been better nicer tastier cheaper! Eighteen pounds for sandwich and crisps ;((
