Nice, clean and convenient to airport

Posted 26-Jul-2015
Booked the hote for the last night of a long vacation so that we could be close to the airport for an early flight. The hotel was very nice, but charged for everything. No free wi-fi, no free shuttle to the airport, and£25 to park overnight. Don't mind spending a little more than usual for a nice room at the end of a trip, but all the extras were frustrating

disappointing

Posted 20-Jul-2015
On arrival I was asked for my debit card and a sum of £50 was put against my account. I wanted to pay cash for my evening meal not to pay on my card . I did not realize why my card was asked for at the time .I only became aware of this when I tried to pay for my meal to the waiter. I then went back to reception to speak to the girl on duty who told me it was Marriot policy. I was not happy with this.I have previously stayed at the Raddison at Stanstead and have never been asked for my card on checking in.I was also dissapointed in the both the menus, and also the uncomfortable and crampt bar area setting. I wish I had stayed at the Premier Inn !

Convenient for airport

Posted 10-Jul-2015
Pros: Location
Comfortable hotel conveniently located for Gatwick airport south terminal. Close, but still too far to walk if you have small children.

Overnight stay before flight

Posted 30-Jun-2015
We booked room only and the price was good. Bed very comfortable. Watch out for all the extras as they all add up. Parking was £25 overnight (a bit steep). Restaurant was fine but food pricey. Bar prices also pricey.

The only positive aspect is that it's close to the airport, I found the service to be appallingly low.

Adequate airport hotel

Posted 22-Jun-2015
Pros: Close to the airport.
Overall, the Courtyard by Marriott is an adequate airport hotel. The exception is the attached restaurant, at which the food is unremarkable and the prices inflated. Guests looking for quality, value, or variety of food are much better served by walking the 10 minutes to Gatwick airport.

Gute Anbindung zum Flughafen. Lange Wartezeiten im Restaurant, hier könnte verbessert werden

Ok....just

Posted 01-Jun-2015
Overall the hotel provides a place to stay, which for us with a one year old and a very early flight the next day, was essential. The restaurant is expensive and in addition to that I had to send a cold meal back and when it was returned to me it was still cold in the middle and wasn't what I ordered, at which point I gave up. Parking is charged on top of room rate which was probably in the 'small print' and I missed it. Overall an 'ok' experience.

a very nice hotel near Gatwick's south terminal

Posted 25-May-2015
Pros: it was quiet & near the airport
Cons: your wakeup call service
It was good other than the TV didn't work & it took 2 calls & one & half hours to fix it plus we ask for a wake up call for 6am & we never got it.Thank goodness we woke up on our own or we would have missed our flight.
