Poor Experience

Pros: Location near the airport and car drop off.
Cons: Everything. Check-in, car parking arrangements, restaurant/bar/lounge experience, mattress comfort, etc
Very seldomly do I find the need to write a review; however, I was quite disappointed with the experience at this particular Courtyard Marriott. First off, the check-in process took too long, it felt as though I had to interrupt the clerks from speaking to one another to realize I was waiting to be addressed, and they were not the most friendly or accommodating. We tried to get a bite to eat in the dining room, and although there were no more than a few tables occupied, we were told that if we didn't have reservation, we would need to eat in the bar/lounge. This was especially disappointing as the bar/lounge area was quite busy, specifically with a number of families and small, unbehaved children (a glass was actually broken by one of them just a meter away from us). It would be much nicer if a business hotel had a bar or dining room separate from the lounge to be able to have a different environment to relax away from the holiday travelers and their children. Lastly, and most importantly, when I laid down to bed, I was very disappointed to realize that the hotel has the cheapest, least comfortable mattresses that I have found in all my stays in the past couple of years. For a chain hotel where you expect a certain level of comfort, I found this quite unacceptable. Also, the expense of the car park, even for hotel guests seems quite unreasonably high.

We stayed in this hotel as we had an early morning flight. We arrived at Gatwick by train and then had less than a ten minute walk to the hotel. we found the hotel to be friendly; clean and comfortable. we were upgraded and had an enormous room; it was a pity we could not have stayed longer. We would use this hotel again when using the airport.

Great overnight stay and superb value for money

Cons: We were given free wifi as we hold a Gold Marriott card - otherwise I believe it was £13+ for the night which is just crazy!
Location: Close to LGW South - landside restaurants on the doorstep as well as short and long stay parking.
Stayed at the Courtyard Marriott for a night before an early flight from LGW South. Got an amazing price on a room with two double beds. Had read the reviews and had very low expectations but we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, modern and larger. The decoration is good and the furniture and fittings of a high quality (for what I would consider a budget hotel). Bathroom was quite modern and toiletries provided. Most amenities provided in the room also plus tea/coffee etc. Just a 10 minute walk (maximum) to LGW South. Great value for money.

Location: COMO LO DIJE EN EL INCIO DEBEN SER MAS ESPECÍFICOS DE COMO LLEGAR AL HOTEL. DEBEN INDICAR QUE CADA 20 MINUTOS PASA EL AUTOBUS EN LA PARADA 9 EN LA
Cuando llegue al aereopuerto no sabía como llegar al hotel???? no sabía si bus había??? Las indicaciones que me indicaron en información del aereopuerto fue que estaba detrás del Hotel Hilton, y seguimos las indicaciones del Hotel Hilton y efectivamente llegamos en 4 minutos por un tunel que conecta la puerta de este Hotel y el aereopuerto, fuimos hacia atrás y no había el Hotel Marriod???? y eras las 10 de la noche. Preguntamos en el Hotel Hilton donde estaba el Hotel Marriod y recibimos una gran ayuda de parte de ellos, nos llevaron ellos en un coche nuevo al Hotel Marriod y no nos cobraron nada. Desde luego faltan más indicaciones de como transportarse hasta el hotel, los horarios del autobus para realizar mejor la planificación.

Pros: Das Zimmer, in das meine Familie untergebracht war, war sehr geräumig! Die Lage des Hotels ist ideal, wenn man London-Gatwick abfliegt.
Cons: Essen und Trinken war überteuert. Das Zimmer war nicht im besten Zustand. Der einzige Stuhl im Zimmer war an der Seite aufgerissen.
Location: Das Hotel befindet sich sechs Minuten zu Fuß vom Terminal entfernt. In der Nähe ist keine Möglichkeit zu essen oder etwas zu unternehmen.
Es war nur eine Nacht, um am nächsten Morgen abzufliegen.

Ideal for Gatwick Airport South, transfer is swift but 10 min walk in rain on arrival was painful. I'd prefer an on-site airport hotel and pay £20 a night more!

Poor customer service

Poor experience. The airport shuttle cost 3 pounds for a 2 minute ride, the water in the room cost 3.75, there was no tissue in the bathroom, they gave me the wrong room....little things like this made this a poor experience. These are easy customer service items that made this a lousy stay. Don't nickel and dime the patron. And, Get it right!
