“Convenient and comfortable. Would book again.”

If you're looking for a 5-star, this isn't it, BUT we were only looking for clean, comfortable, & safe hotel that was within walking distance to public transportation. That's what we got! 2 blocks to the High Street Kensington tube stop. The Copthorne Tara is a bit better than the mid-range American chain hotels, but it needs updated. Clean rooms, excellent front desk& house cleaning service. See if you can get room in front of hotel as train runs along back. Didn't really bother us as we ran the room fan all night and barely heard the trains. Room fridge & coffee pot bonus. I would NOT recommend room service or their dining room as meals are quite expensive, even breakfast is 3x what you can get at the local fast food joint. When we go back, we'll probably put the Copthorne Tara as one of our final choices.

“Plesantly Surprised”

Was in Rm 130 for 5 nights from 8-26-07. The first thing I noticed on entering the room was that the TV was on. On the screen was my name with a message welcoming me. What a pleasant surprise! Remembered reading that the rooms needed refurbishing: the carpet had stains in a couple of spots and there was a small section of wallpaper hanging by a night table. These were the only signs of wear I noticed. The room was clean, housekeeping good. Having a refrigerator was great. I stocked it with stuff from Marks and Spencer (about 2 blocks away). It was exceptionally quiet, especially at night, didn't hear a peep! Air conditioning worked well. Enjoyed my stay and would stay again if I got a good rate.

“Excellent location, would definitely go back”

The hotel is at an excellent location (2 minute walk to the tube station). The hotel staff are very friendly and the area itself is very safe. Guest services helped us book our theater tickets and were very helpful in telling us how to get around London easily with the tube. My only disappointment was that there's no safe in the hotel room and if you're not used to using two faucets for cold and hot water, then it takes time to get used to, Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel. We enjoyed our stay there and would definitely stay back there.

“Excellent Location”

The hotel was clean, the staff were accommodating and the location is excellent. The only gripe I have is that the hot and cold water taps on the bathroom sink and separate; therefore, one tap is hot, the other is cold. I tried to move my hands from tap to tap to get warm water to wash my face and it was ackward!!!! We used the tap in the bathtub to wash our faces. Besides that, everything was excellent.

We stayed here before and loved the location so much that we came back this time. Being just around the corner from High Street Kensington tube station, makes this hotel one of our favorites!

“Excellent Room by London Standards”

I have travelled to London ten times and this was the best room I have stayed in for the price. It was spacious by European standards, quiet and comfortable. The hotel was steps away from a tube station and shopping centre with a pharmacy, grocery store (basement of Marks and Spencer's), and sandwich shop. There are not many tourist attractions within walking distance, but everything is just a short ride on the underground. The one potential problem with this hotel is that there are train tracks running behind it. Our room was to the front of the hotel so we had no disturbances. It would be wise to ask for a room situated as such. Most remarkable of all was the service that we were given by the staff when we had to check-out early due to a medical emergency in the family. They helped us make travel arrangements and checked in on us periodically. In the end we were refunded- through Expedia- the money for the time which we did end up staying.

“Great Hotel”

We were able to get the Copthorne at a discounted price so it was definitely worth it. The cost of the internet was a bit expensive but this is to be expected from the upper tier hotels. The location was fantastic as it was right behind the station and the service was excellent.

We are so very pleased with our stay at the Copthorne Tara. We stayed for two weeks and can't say anything negative. The room was spacious, clean and had a nice clean aroma whenever we entered. The staff was always helpful and courteous and the doorman Billie, was outstanding!!!!! We will not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will certainly stay whenever we visit London. Thanks to all for making this vacation really special.

“Great Location, Very good room”

The hotel is very conveniently located. It has a taxi rank just at its door step and the tube is close by. The hotel is well staffed and the room was surprisingly large and comfortable.
