“Great location and excellent hotel”
The biggest room I have ever seen in London, and I liked the stove top, fridge and microwave. Waitrose, my favorite grocery store in the UK, is across the street so it is easy to pick up refrigerated meals that can be cooked in minutes...also a good wine and liquor selection. Sainsbury's and various coffee and sandwich shops are within a few hundred feet. Good Wifi, not too fast, free coffee in the lobby and other coffee shops close by. Ten or 15 minutes to Covent Garden and the British Museum.
“excellent”
excellent, clean,friendly.
“Citadines are the Best!”
The location of this hotel is fabulous. Central London Underground across the street. If you like to walk, this hotel is in walking distance to almost every hot spot in London. Theaters, comedy clubs, museums, etc. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Rooms are smaller than the US, however, this is common in Europe and UK. Highly recommend the restaurant next door! Step out of the Citadine Hotel and turn left. It's currently called "The French Kitchen" but will be changing it's name soon. It should be " The best Mussells in all of Europe". The best service as well!!
“Great stay”
Quiet room, comfy bed and a hot shower - all the basics covered really well with the added benefit of great location (near Covent Garden) as well as a kitchen so you can cook your own food if you fell the need
“Home away from home”
I love Citadines and will try to stay at the chain whenever possible in my travels. The apartment-style is what does it for me. The Holborn location was just great and conveniently located near the Holborn Tube station and shops of all kinds. It was very cold in London during my stay and our apartment did not get as warm as I like it, even with the thermostat on high. But the room came equipped with a space heater which helped. Also, the room's electricity is controlled by keeping the room's key card in a slot near the door. So when we took the key with us the heat would cut off, making for a somewhat chilly homecoming after a long day of sightseeing. Tip for those who like percolated coffee, know that coffee makers are not provided, so you might want to bring a travel coffee maker or small French press with you.
“Enjoyable stay”
1-bedroom apartment was very comfortable for 2 friends and a child.
“good all round budget hotel.”
probably one of the best budget hotels i have stayed in. it was perfectly situated for where we wanted to be(close to covent garden etc). as for value for money it was great.would defiantly tell friends about it.
“Clean, comfortable, and convenient”
This hotel suited our needs very well. It was not fancy, nor was it as updated as some others may be, but it was clean and comfortable, and the location was great. It also had a private bathroom, as well as a kitchenette, which we found very convenient, as it gave us flexibility and also saved us some money, given that we did not have to eat out all of the time. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, as well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and found it to be just the right accommodations for our trip.
“Fit our needs perfectly”
I loved our cute little room in London - it had everything we needed and was very clean. I loved having the convenience of the kitchenette - it definitely saved a little money to be able to eat a couple meals in our room! I would definitely stay there again.
“Already recommended Citadines to several people.”
My husband and I decided on somewhat short notice to travel to London. Had been there several times before and done the 'tourist' thing but wanted to just walk around, shop and 'pub hop'. Location was most important to us as we wanted to walk to theatres and restaurants. I went online to Expedia and one of the specials was for the Citadines Holborn. I phoned the hotel direct to ask about the room sizes. I then booked through Expedia. We arrived and were wonderfully surprised by the size of our room. It was enormous by European standards and impeccably clean. There was a small, well-equipped kitchen area and a roomy bathroom. The next 4 days only got better as we were able to very easily walk to Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Picadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, all Theatres and Trafalgar Square. Numerous pubs and restaurants are in the area. A bonus was there was a Catholic Church two minutes away. We very rarely return to a European hotel twice. But would definitely do so this time. Out of all the hotels in the area that fit our desire for location, we feel so fortunate to have chosen the Citadines.
