"An excellent modern hotel in stye heart of London"
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for our wedding anniversary weekend.
This is a modern understated hotel. There is no signage at the door or inside to say that you are at this hotel. If you are a local and know this hotel as we did this is no issue for those that don't follow your Google maps, take a cab or know that it's opposite the theatre showing Shakespeare in love.
We loved the modern simplicity of this hotel with its coloured lighting adding a sense of fun to the reception and the rooms.
The bar was very busy on the Saturday night. It was bustling with life. The cocktails were to die for. A massive choice and very high quality.
The hotel has 6 floors. We were in the 6th floor so it was nice and quiet to see we were in the middle of London.
The room numbers are not on the doors they are on the carpets in the halls so look down whilst looking for your room.
The room was small but perfectly formed. The room was immaculate and again very contemporary in its design. Everything is white. In our room yellow and red lights added a quirky sense of fun to the room.
The bathroom was sleek and modern. It was also immaculate. The room has a shower. No bath.
The bed was deliciously comfortable and after a long day in London on our feet, a night at the theatre and many cocktails in the hotels bar it was an absolute delight to fall asleep in this bed. If I could buy the bed and the pillows I would.
All in all we had a brilliant stay at this hotel. I would highly
Greeted warmly by receptionist and checked-in without a hitch. Room set up as requested for two adults and a toddler. Comfortable beds and good facilities. Lovely shower and good products. Descended to a decent spread for breakfast (though give the scrambled eggs a miss!). Helpful on check-out and holding on to our luggage for the day. Even though it obviously caters more to business types, it was an excellent family-friendly stay for us conveniently close to Paddington Station.
Generally a great place to stay. Enjoyed my stay there in the spacious rooms, clean carpet, mini kitchen set up, spacious bathroom and a comfortably sized TV. The service staff are awesome and very friendly except for some minor hiccups when we ask for a technician to look at our refrigerator that is not refrigerating. The hotel is located not quite near to the Waterloo Underground Station. The plus point about Waterloo Station is that it sits smack in the middle of many other train lines. It is beneficial because it gives you many options and reduce the amount of train transfers you have to make just to get to one place. The hotel doesn't have any carpark, so if you drive you have to get it valet (oh well most tourist like me prefer to take the underground lines). The hotel is generally very crowded in the lobby and even on week nights it is relatively packed. The worst thing about the hotel is the interior design of the bedroom that I slept in. This is because instead of just having a plain cupboard door with the usual wood or PVC finish we have the head of a lady in monochromatic tone. It gave me the freaks when I woke up in the middle of the night to see the huge head of a woman staring over the bed from the side.
Even though the hotel has some short comings, but for the value, it is very very well worth the stay and I do actually look forward to stay there again on my next visit to London.
