We visited this hotel in June. The main downside we could see is the long drive which is not tarmac. My car is low slung so we made very slow progress. That apart we felt it was a great experience. The hotel is tastefully decorated, full of interesting objects and is very comfortable. The grounds are amazing. I wouldn't like to eat in the hotel every evening - it is a very rich and too filling and expensive. That said, the meal my wife and I had was amongst the best ever and it was good value for what we had. We just don't like to have such big meals each night, It wasn't a cheap stay, but it was very special. The waiter from Eastern Europe was fantastic. The owner was very friendly too. I'd love to go back.
I would say this is not suitable for children and young adults.
Having never stayed at a B&B, we weren't sure what to expect. The owner greeted us at the door and showed us to our room. We were the only guests that night. The room was very nice with the history of the home held intact. Avril is a lovely woman who shared stories, cooked us a wonderful breakfast, and even gave us a lift into town!

A mid-Victorian, stone-built house of great charm and character, offering a bespoke B & B service for our discerning guests. …More
Ian and Jennifer were so delightful and made our stay a wonderful experience. There B and B is one of the finest I have ever stayed in. It is spotlessly clean throughout and Jennifer serves you a wonderful breakfast each morning. They are very friendly and are at your beck and call. I would strongly recommend this place to all, you will not be sorry, words do not express our experience.
Thank you Jennifer and Ian.
The hotel is conveniently close to the station, next to a nice pub, good value and comfortable. At that price bracket it's hard to fault other thab WiFi could have been faster. Given the self check in and out nature, the staff review is based on the cleaner who was very patient given how slow we were.
Excellent base for our visit to the Ayr Air Show. All of the Staff were very friendly and attentive but not suffocating. The food was delicious. Cooked to perfection and reasonably priced, so much so that we had our evening meal there both nights. The room was very comfortable, roomy and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would not hesitate to recommend it.
