A touch of luxury in a lakeside setting.

Posted 19-Mar-2015
Pros: Old fashioned stylish luxury. Excellent staff. Good food.
Cons: Wi-fi reception poor and sporadic in our room and in other places. Guide book in the room talks about ethernet access, which is no longer available.
Location: Glasgow has had a bad press; it's well worth a visit. Plenty of good walks around the loch. Just relax and enjoy the experience.
Very civilised; good, attentive, well mannered and well trained staff. Comprehensive leisure facilities. Highly recommended if you want to spoil yourself.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Weather!!
Location: Cruise of the Loch is a must but walking in the surrounding areas is lovely.
We had three lovely days at Cameron House. The staff were really efficient, friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and very well equipped with a view over beautiful Loch Lomond. We ate in The boathouse and Claret Jug restaurants and the service and food in both was exceptional.

Stunning location not quite a 5 star hotel

Posted 21-Feb-2015
This hotel has a stunning location and the staff are excellent. The reception, restaurants and bars are communal areas are also very well done. Being a 5* hotel we were left disappointed with our garden view room which was a little 'tired' with creaking floorboards and bed linen which was plastic in texture and sound. Dinner at the Cameron grill was also very disappointing with bland fish and very small and tasteless chicken wings. Very overpriced. Breakfast the following day however was excellent. All in all not quite a 5* hotel!

Another fantastic stay!

'God' was not having an 'off' day when he turned his attention to Loch Lomond! Stunning, naturally beautiful and entirely undervalued in my humble opinion. Perched lochside is the magnificent Cameron house, a scottish baronial home which never fails to delight. We have just stayed in a Junior suite in the Colquhoun wing of the building. The room is luxuriously appointed with sumptuous furniture and a bay window which frames a magnificent view of the loch and waiting sea plane. We ordered room service which was both substantial and of excellent quality - compliments to the chef! Breakfast can be a busy affair but is offered from 7-11 and so if you prefer more space, head there a little earlier. We were however happy to wait and enjoyed a varied and quality selection fit for any Laird. The leisure facilities are excellent and include two squash courts. The free form pool has a surprisingly fun and fast slide which entertained the children. The Great Scots bar (where I now sit) is still one of my favourite haunts and the Victorian Mojito is highly recommended. People have noted the high price in the hotel/bar but I do not feel it is unreasonable given the surroundings. The staff are pleasant and welcoming and are always keen to engage in conversation. The Cameron House is an extensive resort and offers plenty of activities to numerous to list. I have been fortunate enough to stay in many beautiful hotels in stunning locations and still the Cameron House holds a sp

Great hotel, great mood.

This is an excellent hotel/resort. It is of the standard you would expect for the price you pay. Staff very helpful and attentive, facilities top notch. Very nice ambiance as soon as you walk into reception areas. Book one of the colquhoun suites c/w balcony, they are large and luxurious. Small issue with the bill that was corrected immediately without issue by reception staff upon check out.

Luxurious hotel ideal for a day of great golf.

Posted 11-Jan-2015
Pros: The luxury and attention to detail. The door staff were just lovely and every member of staff was friendly, from the maid to the managers.
Cons: Later check out time!
Location: Golf and all outdoor pursuits. Ideal base for exploring the west coast.
We spent a night of our honeymoon at Cameron House. A day of golf at the beautiful Carrick course, followed by a swim and spa to ease our wind and rain beaten bodies! The staff were amazing when we arrived weary. They took our clubs and dried them off and looked after us. Our suite looked out over the Loch and was sumptuous. We ate at the Grill and had fabulous service and beautiful chateaubriand with a full bodied red wine completed our day. Wish we could have stayed longer. .
