We wanted to visit the Costa Brava region of Spain as an extension of our visit to Barcelona. We were not disappointed with our decision to go to one of the closest beaches, Santa Cristina in the Lloret de Mar district. Santa Marta Hotel overlooks this beautiful beach and provided a wonderful and restful stay for me, my husband and our teenage daughter. Upon arrival, I requested a room overlooking the sea and they accommodated us. The room had a spacious balcony and plenty of room for all three of us. The bathroom even had double sinks, a bidet, and everything was impeccably clean. On site was a wonderful restaurant which served dinner on a terrace overlooking the sea, a breakfast buffet on an equally beautiful terrace, and a lunch buffet on the beach. The food was amazing. We loved the complementary appetizers at the start of each dinner, and the complementary glasses of cava. The Hotel also had a wonderful salt water pool, a hot tub, tennis courts, library, and live performances in the evening. The staff was attentive and engaging. We loved every aspect of our stay and would highly recommend this Hotel for all types of travelers.
I stayed with my boyfriend for a week at the Xaine Sun apartment. This was a very spacious apartment and was also ver clean. However, we were shocked upon arrival when we were asked to pay a €100 bond (which was not returned to us until we checked out) plus a €7 tourist tax.
Although the weather was warm for the time of year during the evening it became chilly within the apartment unfortunately the heater/ air conditioning was not working. Overall, I would say it was good!
VG facilities really liked the outdoor pool area, great sun trap & very comfortable loungers. We used the locked luggage room prior to check in and after check out. Very handy & hotel staff very helpful.Good indoor pool & gym. Room clean fairly spacious & decent bathroom. It had what you needed.
Breakfast excellent with very wide choice.
Guests mainly seemed to be over 50 this was fine by us, no late night noise.
Basically the hotel offers very good value for money. Decent quality accommodation which will not break the bank hard to beat for the price IMO.
A great place to stay with really nice staff. The food was very good value (I had breakfast and evening meal) and was served in a delightful shady garden. The hotel is very close to the beach and to a truly outstanding cliff pathway. A real gem in a resort that is far nicer than its 1970s reputation. Would go again.
We just returned from Lloret de Mar where we stayed for 10 days in Bertran Hotel. It is a fairly small hotel in the heart of the city with a very good and affordable meals plan (we took a combination of breakfast and dinner) and super friendly and helpful staff. They were super helpful and went out of their way to respond to every question and every request that we had. Everyone from the front desk to the cafeteria staff made everything they could to make our stay pleasant and were sweet and nice with our kids. Their English was limited but there were no actual barriers just some adjustment in communication.
One thing you may want to know is that some double rooms have half wall between the bedroom and the bathroom made out of glass and totally transparent so it is not a good room for adult and a child. We asked to change rooms and were immediately moved to a nice 5th (top) floor room with a more traditional style walls. There are also rooms right next to the elevator but elevators are modern so I am not sure if this is noise to be concerned about.
There were comfortable seats and tables at the swimming pool and at the bar. Everything was super clean and we felt welcome there. I would definitely stay there again if I visit Lloret de Mar in the future.
First of all all Spanish hotel star rate is not the same as EU.its was 4* lovely little hotel,15 min walk from high street and night life so you cant hear any noise and drunks coming back early in the morning. It doesnt have outdoor swimming pool but got their own spa in the basement and little gym but sea is 2 min away from the hotel.Swimming pool can use at home. Rooms vere comfortable and clean, with air con and tv but no fridge .you can have one on demand.Every room has a balcony also.Very clean towels can be changed eery day.
Food wise was ok but everyone could find food to their taste. They alwYs had a choise of meat and fish, salads, fruit, dessert ,variety of hot drinks and snacks..Stuff was very nice and friendly, very helpful.WiFi works in the lobby but you can have it in you room also by paying 20 euros for 5 days.As i said beach was literally 5 min away, this hotel is perfect location. Will be great for families and couples,as there is no night clubs around and loud pubs but are just 15 min away.Bar closes at 11 as well which is good as there is no noise as hotel is small compare to others.I loved every minute spend in Asacias and definitely will come to Lloret and will book same hotel again.Great value for money, good rooms, cosy hotel, friendly stuff, nice food and perfect location!
A playground for British family holidaymakers on a budget for over four decades, densely developed Lloret de Mar is the biggest resort on this coast. The five long sandy beaches are its pride and joy, four of which are backed by pine trees. Water World Lloret is a major water park while a water taxi service links Lloret de Mar to other seaside resorts. After dark, dozens of international-themed bars and discos host an all-night party scene.
