Absolutely great

Posted 16-Aug-2014
Pros: Really nice room, adequate facilities.
Cons: Mattresses could do with replacing but still had great nights sleep
Location: Walking etc.
Lovely hotel. We booked at the last minute, and took room only as neither of us are big breakfast eaters. Great bar snack in the evening as we had eaten huge lunch late in the day. Would definitely go again and recommend.

Beautiful setting; easy transport by road or bus.

Pros: The setting and position.
Location: Loads to do in and about Llangollen - by car, bus or on foot.
Excellent staff - helpful and courteous. Excellent breakfasts and great spa facility. We dud nit eat any other meals only because of circumstance and programme.

Erm....oh dear.

My daughter and I were in the older wing - room 208. The room was sparse and very tired looking but didn't expect the Ritz. Found a few false nails by the bed which was not very nice!! Bathroom was tiny and the shower not very powerful - couldn't wash my thick hair. Very comfortable bed thank goodness but the room was extremely hot. We couldn't open the window because of the traffic noise outside and the music from the restaurant below. Breakfast was good although they gave me tea instead of coffee. When they brought the coffee they didn't change the full cup so just had to take one from another place setting. My closing thought of the hotel - comfortable mattress on the bed but won't be returning.

Very Relaxing Break

Posted 19-Apr-2014
Pros: The hydro pool is definitely the highlight of the hotel.
Cons: The room needs a little TLC but is perfectly fine. The room was very warm but we asked for a fan and one was provided straight away.
Location: The location is ideal for exploring Llangollen. It is less than 10 minutes to walk to the town centre along the riverside path.
The hotel is in a great location for walking to the town centre and for accessing the local attractions. We stayed in the older part of the hotel & it is in need of updating but the room was perfectly adequate, clean with all necessary amenities & a huge & very comfortable bed. The spa is a very relaxing experience, the hydro pool was where we spent a good few hours of our stay. We had it to ourselves most of the time but even when other people were using it there was plenty of space for all. The breakfasts were very tasty & plenty of choice, it is better to get down earlier though as it gets very full. We didn't eat in the restaurant but we did eat in the bar. The food was excellent and good value for money.

No wifi in room and Spa only open til 8pm so didn't get to use it. Walls a bit thin so no alarm needed in the morning. Breakfast was ok and they were ok about bringing the toast again as the first lot wasn't hot. Exceedingly handy for Mike End Mill and loads of parking.

Lack of sleep

Posted 05-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
We were in room 212,below the window outside is a noisy fan unit.went down to reception and told receptionist we would not be able to sleep if it was going all night. She assured me that it was from the kitchen and would be turned off at 10 pm.Needless to say that was not the case and we were kept awake most of the night .Told same receptionist next morning who said that was unusual but nothing she could do about it .Not happy
