“Very Impressed”

“Business hotel with added elephants”

Perfectly nice, business-type hotel with good staff. The hotel has little cuddly elephants that can be bought by guests, as my wife made me do........

“Shame about the rooms”

The hotel is excellently situated right near the three bridges and the main parts of the hotel - dining room, bar etc are very nice and well maintained. Didn't visit the suana etc so can't comment on that. Although the bed was comfortable the room was very poor and needs a complete refurbishment. It had a damp smell to it which didn't go away even with the windows open. The outlook was very unappealing - into the middle of the block full of extracter fans etc which made a terrfici noise - such that you couldn't sleep with the mindow open. There was only a corner shower in a very cramped bathroom and the whole room could do with modernisation. It was a real shame about the room as otherwise it would have been a great. The food at breakfast was good. If you aren't fussed about the room then this is a great place to stay. If you are, find somewhere else!

Area recommendations

Apart from the local vicinity - everything is quite close - a day trip to Lake Bled is a must see - very picturesque and easy to get to on the bus. We took a group taxi back which was only slightly more costly than the bus and half the time. Great to wander round the lake itself - stunning scenery - and we ate in a restuarant overlooking the lake at very reasonable price and good quality food.

“great choice for Ljubljana”

Very pleasant hotel, well located for old town Ljubljana. Beds were extremely comfortable, variety of pillows, bright new decor, great breakfasts. Only down side - we could not connect to the wireless internet from our room so had to sit in front lobby. Good restaurant in the hotel and also conveniently located for other restaurants. Kettle in room.

Area recommendations

The hotel is located in the "new town" but only 1 block frrom the center of the "old town" - ideal.

“Old Ljubljana”

My family and I spent four days in the Best Western Premier Hotel Sion over the Christmas weekend. Overall, we were very satisfied with the experience and would stay in the hotel again. Things that we liked were: A. The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. B. The great central location in downtown Ljubljana. All the main sights were within walking distance of the hotel. C. We had a Deluxe Double room which was quite spacious for European standards and filled our needs quite nicely. The room also came with high end toiletries from L'Occitane which was quite a surprise. D. All rooms come with breakfast included. The spread provided a large selection of fruits, cheeses, breads, etc... which were quite tasty. The only things we didn't like were the 18 Euro a nght parking fee and the fact that we had to keep one of our room's windows open because it got so hot. However, these were minor impediments which would not stop us from staying here again.

“Everything you could want in a hotel in a great location in an exquisite city.”

This is a beautiful hotel with spotless rooms, tastefully decorated and services that include a pillow menu, a complimentart umberella for your stay and chocolates at night with a welcome card that gives the following days weather forecast. The buffet breakfast offers an amazing choice of food and drink. The staff are all helpful and speak good English. The location is a few minutes from the pedestrianised historic city centre of Ljubljana with a wealth of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Area recommendations

The historic centre because it is so beautiful and everything you need for a great trip can be found with its environs. In the Lake area Lake Bled rather than Bohinj because lots more hotels and eating places.

When to go

We were there in autumn, the leaves were changing, the mountains had smow on the highest peaks but the alpine valleys were stilll full of flowers in gardens & window boxes. In the spring there would be flowering meadows, the summer blue skies ans fantastic views and winter with the snow and lights it would be magical. So any season would have its own special feeling. We were there in October and Halloween decorations were everywhere in shops, topurist atractions and gardens.
