Excellent hotel in a great location

Posted 14-Jul-2014
Just a quick overnight stay at the Holiday Inn, Liverpool. Easy to find and great access to Liverpool Lime St and St Georges Hall. Fab room and good service from reception staff. The city centre location means that outside is quite noisy but only a problem as I am completely unused to that coming from the sticks!

Thrilled

Pros: everything
Cons: signage back to the hotel from the car park storeys. The toilet roll holder is too low on the wall.
Location: all the tourist attractions are no more than 7 minutes walk away and most are less than 5 minutes.
The hotel is positioned ideally for all the amenities available in the city centre. It is right opposite Lime St Railway Station and the Playhouse theatre where we were attending is a very short walk at the back of the hotel. A large car park is in the shopping mall next door and the hotel subsidises the parking so the fee is just £6 for 24 hours. The breakfast is self-service in a pleasant room and the staff could not be more helpful. One can order any kind of egg and porridge is also available upon request. Our room has been refurbished very recently and the style is attractive and functional . The beds and pillows are very comfortable. I am looking forward to a return visit very soon. Just one negative point to make is once we parked the car, we followed the signs for the Holiday Inn and found ourselves walking all round the Mall and through back yards of the buildings with steep stairs to the ground floor. Ignore these signs and go into the Mall and use the escalator or lift.

WEEKEND IN LIVERPOOL

Posted 06-May-2014
Pros: Everything as described above
Cons: None that I am aware of
Location: Shopping, sightseeing, dining, local soccer teams both Liverpool and the reserve team Everton
The Holiday Inn is in a great location just across from Lime street train station and also close to the city center. I found it very clean and comfortable, friendly and helpful staff, and food was excellent especially breakfast buffet in a spacious restaurant. It has a good size in house bar, and overall was good value for a downtown hotel, I will certainly return here in September and would certainly recommend it as a good valued hotel close to shops and all amenities in the heart of Liverpool.

City centre hotel

Posted 18-Apr-2014
Pros: Staff were excellent.
Cons: Power from the shower.
Location: Walking distance of shops, museums, station.
City centre hotel opposite Lime Street with nearby parking. Access from parking not suitable for those with reduced mobility....would need to be dropped off at hotel entrance. Nearby restaurants and bars. Loved decor of the room and view of the Mersey and area further afield. Staff were excellent. breakfast room was very airy and had lovely glass frontage. Breakfast was very good. ONly let down was the power from the shower.

Pros: In the City Centre
Cons: Air Con control for the rooms & more plug sockets!!!!
Location: N/A
Next to Lime Street Station - Car park sound for parking. Easy to find when out in town due to the Radio City tower is part of St John Shopping centre. Hot shower, and comfy beds. Although more plug sockets was needed!!!
