“Would definitely stay here again”

The staff at this hotel were very friendly and the service was exceptional. The breakfast buffet was very good and included cereals, toast, croissants, bread, cold meats, fresh fruit, yoghurt and tea and coffee. You could upgrade to a Full English breakfast for £2.50 but we did not bother as the continental breakfast was ample for us. The hotel was conveniently located on the waterfront and a short walk from the Albert Dock, Liverpool One and the City Centre. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Area recommendations
Whilst staying in Liverpool the Albert Dock and Liverpool One are two attractions you must do. You should visit the Maritime Museum and the new Liverpool Life Museum near the ferry terminal.

“Campanile Liverpool”

The Campanile is a good budget hotel, with friendly, helpful staff. My friend and were horrified on arriving to find that we had a double bed and not twins as requested (I do think we should have been told that this was not available before we arrived) but we survived! The continental breakfast had a fair selection of cereals, fruit, croissants etc. and the one evening meal we had there was good value. The staff worked hard and managed to subdue a very loud group of women tactfully. Because the room ,like all hotel rooms, was much too hot, we had to have the window open and it is quite a noisy area, with traffic and people walking by, but over all we were happy with it and would recommend it. We were near the Albert Dock could get buses to everywhere we wanted.

Area recommendations
Albert Dock.
Must see
1. National Trust tour of Lennon and McCartney's childhood homes 2. Tate Liverpool 3. Catholic Cathedral, for the architecture, stained glass and statues 4. Adelphi Hotel for its past glories 5. Mersey ferry.

“Good value for money”

I was quite impressed with this hotel. It is described as a 'budget hotel' which can sound a little off-putting but overall the quality of this hotel, in my opinion, is probably slightly superior to your more well known 'budget hotel' brands. The interior of the rooms are less 'plastic'. The room and shower was clean. The bed was comfortable. I was also quite lucky to get a room overlooking the docks which was very pretty. I chose this hotel because of the location close to the convection centre, reasonable pricing, parking space and wi-fi which was all included in the rates. The location of the hotel is ideal for the Convection Centre and Arena and you are 10mins walk for The One shopping centre and various tourist attractions around Albert Docks. As an economy hotel I believe it met more than my expectations.

“Good budget hotel”

This hotel was exactly what we needed, reasonably priced for such a great location and with free parking. The room was fairly basic but nothing worse than the price would suggest. Comfy bed, decent hot shower and a hair dryer all included. Decor a bit shabby, could do with a bit of a makeover but nothing to be concerned about. Staff were very friendly. Really close to the Albert Docks so we could easlily walk everywhere we wanted to go. I'd happily recommend Campanile to anyone who just needs a hotel as a base to explore a great city.

Area recommendations
The area around and between the two cathedrals is really lovely, the best restaurants can be found on Hope Street, but Liverpool One is also good if you prefer the safety of restaurant chains. Also try out the Philharmonic pub on Hope St if you are into real ales. An amazing building! If you are able to venture out of the city, go to Formby for a walk along the beach and to be in with the chance of spotting a red squirrel or two.

“No frills, efficient, friendly.”

The Campanile chain is a low price, basic brand, and users get what they pay for. This hotel provided everything I could have reasonably expected, the reception was efficient and friendly, the room was secure, a bit tattered, but warm and comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. The location is ideal for anyone going to a show at the Echo Arena or visiting the shops and attractions. Free parking and internet make this hotel good value for money.

“Make sure they have now switched the TVs to receive digital signal!!!”

The hotel was as I expected - budget but clean and in an easy walking distance from L1. Main problem was that the TVs did not work - supposedly due to the recent digital switch-over - but as this has been planned for the past 12 months it wasnt a valid excuse - rather they couldnt afford to spend the money to upgrade!!! No radio was provided. Bed has non locking castors so that when one sat up in bed the bed shot forward and pillows landed on the floor. Had to use the chair and bin to secure it. Car parking was excellent and the hotel was quiet during our stay. The person who was manning reception on our arrival was a surly character, but the young lady was checked us out was much nicer

“Very friendly service in a simple hotel by the Docks”

Enjoyed the visit here. The staff were very friendly and made the visit enjoyable. The dog had a little run about in the car park and was fine in the hotel, though was confined to the room or the car, though she did come onto the terrace. Breakfast was good value and I would recommend staying here again.

Liverpool, England, United Kingdom: Most people probably associate Liverpool the most with the 1960s pop group “The Beatles.” While the city's airport is indeed named after the late band member John Lennon, there is also more to this western English city.
