well placed hotel for evening out

Posted 10-Aug-2014
we opted for an evening out in Liverpool to consist of a meal, few drinks then in the morning a look round the shops. we chose best western because of the price, the fact that it had car parking and its location just a short walk out of the busy hub. hotel was fine room bit small but the worst thing was the shower..... very poor water output which made showering awkward... please invest in power showers

Good Place to stay

Posted 07-Aug-2014
Pros: Clean and tidy with friendly staff and good food well presented.
Cons: Slow drainage in shower nearly caused flooding in bathroom. Suggest fall in pipework is insufficient.
Location: Didn't stay long enough to find out. Hotel seems to be in the university area of the city.
Arrived late and only stayed one night so didn't see much of the hotel. Staff were all friendly and efficient and hotel was clean tidy and presentable. Breakfast was comparable with any 4* hotel i have ever stayed in. Would definately recommend to anyone and would stay again.

Ideal for short stay.

Posted 18-Apr-2014
Pros: Very nice room, and friendly staff.
Cons: N/A
Location: A bit further from town than we thought, but for one night it was ideal.
For one night this hotel was fine, very friendly staff. The hill back from town was a bit steep.

Potentially ok but poor experience

Posted 26-Mar-2014 on Hotels.com
Very disappointing. The hotel is in a decent area and looks nice from the outside but inside conditions deteriorate. I stayed in one of their single rooms and it was a disgrace, I am amazed that they have the front to offer it as a room. The single rooms are the cheapest they offer so I wasn't expecting much but compared to similar hotels and prices of rooms this was outrageous. I marked the condition and comfort of the room low because the the shower leaked, the room was damp and there was no lighting outside the room making it hard to even see the room number in addition the heating had failed, they didn't fix it and the first person I spoke to was very unhelpful. I am sure most of their other rooms are fine but my experience was extremely poor and if they are willing to treat guests like that I will not stay there again on principle.

Nice hotel but in need of updating

Posted 18-Feb-2014
Pros: Breakfast, location
Cons: Updating ie redecoration and making hotel reception larger
Location: Good location out of centre itself however only 5 mins walk to shops/amenities
Stayed 1 night for a night out in Liverpool Hotel was clean and comfortable although double rooms are small with my bed pressed right up against the radiator; being on my own this didn't matter too much however the bed mattress was very worn with a distinctive dip on one side! Car Parking a bit of a pain outside the hotel as hotel car park was full although a lot cheaper Breakfast was excellent

Friendly enough is not enough!

Posted 11-Feb-2014 on Hotels.com
The staff were friendly but hotel was in need of some attention, looking a bit past its best. My room was small with no heating (and the window had been left open - chilly) and overlooked student accommodation on the night of a massive pub crawl. Price was cheap enough to not grumble but I wouldn't stay here again.

Hotel Review

Posted 03-Feb-2014
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Investment required urgently but dont expect it will. Will be returning to Liverpool and wont let any of our family or friends book this hotel.
Location: Handy for university but wont be back.
The hotel is a collection of buildings joined together so long walks through many doors to your 'wing' and no lifts to higher floors. TV didn't work despite best efforts of staff. Moved to another room. In the morning the shower and taps didnt have any warm water. When approached, receiption advised the bioler for our wing had broken....would have been an idea to pop a note under the door of rooms affected. Breakfast was the poorest I've experienced in a hotel.....scrambled eggs were burnt, took 20 minutes to get some bacon, hash browns were hard and sausages not the best. After this we nearly decided to move hotel for our 2nd night but just decided to go out for breakfast on the 2nd morning. A very tired hotel and not value for money......book any other hotel in Liverpool.
