“solid price for a quick night in liverpool”
for a hotel, the Feathers had great prices and the perfect sized room for just me for a single night. it could easily accommodate two, but no more. breakfast was included, much to my surprise, and it was quite tasty. it took me a little while to figure out how to get there from the bus station, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy to get there from the city center, though about a ten minute walk from queen's square. i can't really think of anything bad! free wi-fi, solid tv (though some channels were out, like sky sports, which i love watching when in the UK), and clean room and bathroom.
“Micro-room”
I know Liverpool very well, indeed I lived near to this Hotel for about 3 years. It looks great from the outside and has a very convenient location (in between the city centre and cathedrals). The problem is the inside. I was given a single room in the ground floor. The room was so small, so small that moving inside required juggling my stuff (and I travel light). Though it was a ground floor it seemed more like a basement (very small "window" in the upper part of the ceiling). It was also EXTREMELY noisy: This room was between the parking and the reception and one could hear everything (not the cars, but people passing). It was also not the most clean room that I have been in. Surely not a 4-star hotel. Actually not even a 3-star hotel. The Ibis in Liverpool is way better. Maybe in the upper floors, maybe the non-single rooms. Maybe... But for me it was a very bad experience.
“Good value for money”
The Feathers Hotel is a little tired, but convenient to the City Centre (10 minute walk) and the staff are cheerful & helpful. The hotel has a bar & restaurant and offers free drinks from 5-7pm from Sunday to Friday. We did not take advantage of this as we were out, and we were disappointed that when we got back at 10pm, hoping for a nightcap, the hotel bar was shut. There was no warning of this, & we expected the licensing hours to be the same as pubs in town (at least 11pm) The room we were in had 3 single beds (we had booked a twin). We were told it was bigger. However, the only window was opaque, & the room was a bit dark. The beds were reasonably comfortable. The shaving light in the bathroom did not work. To be fair, we did not give them the chance to sort it out as we were only there 1 night. The bathroom was small but adequate, & the shower (over the bath) was powerful & hot. For a 3 bed room, they only provided 2 tubes of shower gel & 1 shampoo (we did not ask for more). There was plenty of coffee, tea, milk, sugar & Biscuits, and more available in the foyer. Breakfast was included in our room rate - the usual hot buffet, cereals, toast, tea, coffee & juice. I was woken at 6.15am by very loud voices - it sounded like the staff coming on duty, & lots of banging doors. Our room was on the ground floor near to reception. Perhaps a room upstairs would have been quieter. That said, the hotel was very good value for money and I would use it again if visiting Liverpool.
“Great Little Hotel”
Great little hotel, not too far from the city centre. Not too noisy, even though it was the party season.
“4 star ;you're having a laugh!”
The hotel was tiny and unlike the photos on the website. Having asked for quiet room and not received one we were moved reluctantly with excuses that all the rooms were booked. The room was over hot and the shower curtain ineffective . The only saving graces were the location and the buffet breakfast which most of our party enjoyed. The Feathers did notn offer good value for money !
“Not for elderly or physically disabled”
Super friendly, clean hotel, but not for anyone with mobility issues. My husband has leg problems due to MS, and had we been aware we would have booked elsewhere. There is NO elevator, and only a very narrow staircase. If this information was in the on-line information, then I missed it. We had to climb to the 4th floor and down again with our luggage (a young man did help with my husband's suitcase), and several other times to go out, to go for meals, etc. On the plus side, Free breakfast was very good quality breakfast. Great Staff ! Close to train station.
“Feathers Hotel, Liverpool UK”
We've stayed at some larger chain hotels during previous Liverpool visits, but decided to try Feathers, which is a smaller, older hotel on an associates recommendation. We had hoped for a better room. Their doing a lot of refurbishing, but our room was kind of a orphan. Two twin beds squeezed into a room made for a double. The bathroom was functional and clean, but tiny. We hadn't planned to sit around the room much during our visit, and it was a good plan. Feathers was full, so we couldn't change our room, but I'd ask for one of the newer rooms next time. If you want basic comfort in a local hotel, it was just fine. Good services. Breakfast was a nice buffet, and the front desk was friendly and helpful.
“Good hotel close to city centre”
Clean friendly hotel with nice features. Staff excellent and always happy to assist. From what I have seen, normal size room for European/UK standards. Takes about 15 minutes to walk to city centre (not a brisk walk) and about 5 mins to a shop for groceries etc. Very good overall, especially for the price.
Besser hinten.
