We liked our room and enjoyed the cozy fire. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and kitchenette were well equipped. More should be said about the steepness and amount of stairs to get to the room . Many people would have found them very difficult . As well the stairway rugs were old and dirty which did not match the coziness of the room itself. A few updates would really add to this experience.

Staying at the Canal Side in was an "experience". There is no obvious lobby to check-in at. We asked at the restaurant next door and were directed to the 3rd floor of the Stone Mill Inn across the street. The woman there took us back to the doorway next to the restaurant - the room was on the third floor. The Inn doesn't have an elevator, so you'll have to drag your bags up multiple sets of steep stairs. There are lights in the stairwell, they are motion activated and turn off quickly. The room is quaint but dated. Cushioning in the chairs and couch are worn and provide little support. The bed is firm and comfortable however the ceiling fan didn't work and half of the bulbs were missing. Airconditioning is provided by window AC units that are a bit loud. It looks as though the room is heated in the winter by a gas fireplace and a portable electric heater in the bedroom but I can't be certain of this as we visited in the summer months. The bathroom is off the bedroom and is reasonably modern. Internet access was marginal -streaming to the TV periodically dropped out. Overall, the staff are pleasant and friendly but the Inn would benefit from a bit of updating.

Everyone was so nice and friendly! They thought of every detail to make this a great stay. The room and bed was perfect. They had room for our tandem bicycle which was a major plus!! I highly recommend this hotel.

The rooms are charming. Two issues while we were there.( 1night) 1: the stairway lights turn on w a motion detector but they turn off again after a few seconds. Leaving you walking up stairs and trying to open room door in near complete darkness! Also the bathroom mirror lights in one room didn’t work at all. Staff was nice. And restaurant was excellent.

Recommend very quaint.
Very comfortable and quaint. We were on our way back from Niagra Falls so Little Falls was a great place to stay. Enjoyed the history of the place. The restaurant food was delicious and wonderful service.

Studio Apartment Above Cafe
Walk up two flights of stairs and understated, rustic style abounds. Located in downtown Little Falls, NY our room was small but comfortable, with all the amenities of home; ie: small kitchen, fridge, toaster and Keurig coffee maker. The bed and mattress were comfortable and we rested soundly in the peace and quiet of revitalized downtown area.

Did not find out that the room was on the 3rd floor with no elevator until we arrived. Free continental breakfast in separate bldg, but door locked. Was not given code and no response to call to desk. Was texted code after we went somewhere else. Room and location was nice.

I attended the Cooperstown activities on the weekend and the Inn is 45 minutes away, very convenient! The town is quiet and the locals are friendly but, their is not many eating establishments to choose from and the Inn needs some serious renovations.

We planned a biking trip down the Erie Canal and this was a great location to spend the night. They were able to accommodate our bikes in a secure location!

Huge rooms, convienient location
We had a 2 bedroom suite and the rooms were huge. The bathroom was the biggest one I have ever stayed in and every was neat, clean and comfortable. For breakfast we got a free pass to eat at the restaurant right next door, a full breakfast, no continental breakfast. The only thing to be aware of is it’s the second floor and there is no elevator. My favorite diner restaurant is also litteraly next door. I will stay next time in town

No one was at the door, it was deserted. The one door we opened had mailboxes like people lived there permanently. The carpets in the hall were very dirty and there was a horrible smell. Would not stay here.

I love this little gem of a restaurant in Little Falls, NY. The Chef greeted us, on our way to being seated in a romantic corner table with candlelight. The service was personable, courteous, & attentive. The food was absolutely delectable. The waitress let us take our time, answered all questions, & even took a nice photo of us for my scrapbook. The Chef came out to ask our thoughts on the meal, before leaving. But, having our room waiting for us, upstairs! I really loved that! It was cozy, accomodating, nice & quiet. I will definitely be going back!

The climb to the 3rd floor was a bit rough for us as my husband had a bad leg. However the friendly and accommodating staff made up for it. Very clean room and a wonderful restaurant downstairs.

Quaint, but not run like a professional hotel
Pros: Very neat area downtown little falls in an old industrial building. Cons: was sold a "made to order breakfast" at time of booking but received a very sad continental breakfast which, on several days, we had to forage for in the kitchen because nobody was working at the hotel. The blinds don't block light and there is a street light outside. Odd: microwave popcorn but no microwave in room.

This is a small property with a unique charm. It is located near the Erie Canal and in small town with a big heart. Warning: this is an older building with no elevator and steep stairs.

Nice B&B type experience. Everything great in our room except couldn't seem to get the heater working. Tried to take a meal in the bar but had to leave -- we were sitting at the bar itself and no one seemed to want to take our order, including the bartender. Wound up going to an Italian restaurant in town instead, which was a bit of an inconvenience.
