“Modern Businessman's hotel”

Nice Modern Hotel safe 'multi story' gated parking at the rear, only issue is you have to walk up or down a few stairs from the car park with your heavy cases to get into the hotel so its perhaps better to unload your car in the street first 'if' there is space nearby... Rooms are adequate, normal facilities, moder we had quite a nice view. But don't arrive after midnight and expect room service or anything to eat at the bar we managed to scrounge a toastie. Breakfast is surprisingly good served later than most you might even sneak in up to 10.30 am. The Location is ideal for Lisbon proper right next to the Orient Metro. There is much to see nearby as well a large modern shopping centre across the road even a Nespresso shop opposite for those who need their proper coffee fix... buy some biscuits and they give you an espresso to 'try' free... Easy to get to the motorway if you want to travel further round Portugal as well.

Area recommendations

Head for Sao Sebastio da Pedeira and walk down to Sao Jose take the tram 28 for a ride round. visit the Castle for the views. Sao Nicolau and Rossio Square try the ancient coffee shop and go up the Santa Justa lift.. for night life visit Bairro Alto area.

“Adequate business hotel in good location”

We stayed one night at the TRYP Oriente, chosen primarily for its location near the Oriente Station, and just about a 5-minute taxi ride to or from the airport. It is a decent hotel, nothing fancy.

“Near Oceanarium”

Good modern hotel near the Park of Nations Exposition and the Oriente Metro station. Comfortable room. The buffet breakfast was a very complete meal with hot and cold items. Stay here to access the contemporary architecture in the area and walk the boardwalk to the Oceanarium. The negatives are that there are not a lot of restaurants right around the hotel and one must take the Metro to the historic district of Lisbon.

Area recommendations

The Rossio and Alfama neighborhoods are historic. The Park of Nations is modern and family friendly.

the hotel is excellent value, the buffet breakfast is exceptionally good, staff extremely helpful, ideal for transport, the station is just round the corner from the hotel for bus, metro, or train too the capitol.

“Great Train Station Hotel in Lisbon”

Hotel Tryp Oriente is only 1 block from the train station and is very convenient if your arriving in Lisbon via train. The hotel restaurant is very nice and there are many restaurant options within walking distance. The shopping mall at the train station is very convenient with a pharmacy that operates 7 days a week, a full service grocery store and all of the other typical shopping mall stores.

“Tryp was a trip!”

Friendly staff; breakfast a bit boring but satisfactory. Extremely clean hotel, great location next to Oriente station and across from Vasco da Gama Mall and the river front area, oceanarium, restaurants, etc.

“Will look elsewhere next time”

From the Exepdia listing, I was under the impression that the hotel had an airport shuttle. Still don't know if they really have one or not. I turned my rental car in at the airport for my 1 night stay before the next day's flight home. No shuttle. We took a taxi and were ripped off, as noted by one of the reviews here. The desk said they had a shuttle but it only ran between 8 and 10 AM each day. Call the night before to schedule. We called for an 830 Am shuttle. The desk said it was all set up. In the morning, we checked at 825 to make sure it was coming. The person at the desk said "no". No shuttle. We don't know anything about it. We'll call a a cab for you. No apology. No nothing. She was quite rude. The cab meter said 4.6 Eu, but the cabbie said it was 7.50 (still only half of what the 1st cab ride cost). The hotel only runs the a/c in summer, except in the lobby where the staff works. You have to ask to get the windows unlocked, but still it was too hot if you want to keep the room dark and have privacy. The bed was comfy, but too hot to sleep. Breakfast was generally good, but the OJ was watered down. This was the most expensive hotel (4*) of our 2-week Spain-Port trip and our worst experience. I would not recommend this hotel.

“Close to the Railroad Centre Oriente”

Best place to stay when You want to see Park of Nations and Waterworld - Oceanarium or when You travelling by train to south Portugal. not very far from airport neither. Only thing: we leaved at morning 6AM and that what they have for breakfast was symbolic.

Close to the Park of Nations and Waterworld - Oceanarium Great shopping very close (Vasco da Gama Shopping Mall) and lot of places to eat after shopping. You can have choice to eat on waterfront or in shopping centre. In lisabon is very good underground so the location is not the problem.
