“Excellent location, comfort and service”
Hotel is on the 5 Euros Aero bus route from the hotel if you can manage your bags. (You can use the Aero ticket for other public transit discounts and an entry discount to the fort.) The bus ride gives a good overview of the city. The hotel is clean and the staff is multilingual, pleasant and helpful. Rooms were a bit compact, but very neat, well appointed and quiet. Internet access in the room was good and included in the room rate.
“I would return ..... super location and excellent service.”
This is my second time in this hotel. If what you want is to experience Lisbon and be able to move in the downtown area without need of a car this is an excellent option. The rooms are not big but they have everything you need and they are very comfortable. We had two rooms for 5 nights and not once did we have any problems. (Ok, maybe the tv in my room was a weird shade of green but we never sat down long enough to care. Unfortunately we did not tell the front desk about it either) The front desk personnel and the doormen were always super efficient and helpful. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the bar and had a great breakfast at their restaurant. I would go back, no doubts about it.
“Great location”
We stayed in the Sofitel for 5 nights prior to going on a cruise. We found this hotel to be in an ideal location for exploring Lisbon, close to restaurants, shopping, train station and several of the main areas of Lisbon. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Accommodations were clean, comfortable and spacious - we faced the inner courtyard and had no issues with noise. We had dinner in the Ad Lib restaurant our first evening, which was very well prepared and presented. As we like to get up and head out to explore, we found a cafe a couple of blocks down from the hotel where we had our cappuchino and pastry. On our last morning before joining our cruise, we had a leisurely breakfast buffet in the hotel - excellent buffet selection with personal hot food order requests. When we return to Lisbon, we would definitely stay at the Sofitel again.
“Worth it”
Great location, nicely appointed room, helpful staff with good English, but wake-up call service was deficient, old TV in room, not interactive, no on-demand films or shows.
“Sofitel Lisbon 5 star”
Excellence personified - other hotel chains should visit Sofitel to see how it should be done.
“Beautiful hotel - really feels like luxury”
We stayed as a family and almost everything was perfect - the rooms were luxurious, clean, beds were extrememly comfortable and although on one of Lisbon's main streets we had undisturbed sleep throughout our stay. So why not 5/5 - its one drawback is that there is apparently only one pair of interconnecting rooms in the hotel - which was booked for our stay, so we had to be split across the corridor and since we dont feel comfortable to leave our children on their own in a room overnight we had to do one parent, one child per room. Didnt spoil our holiday, but did mean it doesnt get the five stars that everything else about the hotel deserved.
“Lovely hotel”
We were travelling with 2 other parties, and when we checked into the hotel around 10 am, we knew that the rooms would not be ready, but was able to check in and leave our suitcases with the concierge. By the time we returned back to the hotel, the first party checked in, the second party checked in, and then we checked in and found out that our room was given to the first party. (This was due to the mix up with the last names). However, when the miss understanding was cleared up on their end, we were quickly given a room on the quiet side, and on a higher floor. The room was clean, and the bathroom quite large. But, the best feature was the pillows. The pillows were so comfortable that I had the best sleep in the 2 days that we stayed. The location of the hotel was convenient for our stay. We did walk to the touristy area, but much preferred the location of the hotel. There are some great restaurants in the area, the Cervejaria Ribadouro and great seafood place, and also O Fumeiro , meaning smoked meats or smoke house. There are a lot of high end shops as well, if you want to get out of the tourist area. Overall, we would definitely go back to stay at the hotel.
“Good location and excellent service”
Front desk staff were more than happy to re-park our car right outside the doors and speedily transported our luggage to our room. Room was extremely luxurious, albeit on the small side, only drawback was the red and white artworks which were less than inspiring. The location was excellent on the Aveneda Liberdade, just by the funicular up to the Barrio Alto. As we had to check out at 6.00am we could not experience the extremely comfortable beds to their best advantage, but check-out was extremely quick and staff were on hand again to help with luggage. A good city centre hotel at a very reasonable price.
“Last night in town”
Nice upscale hotel. The front desk lady was very friendly, the rooms were nice, and overall my wife and I were extremely pleased with the stay. The hotel is located on the shopping strip, and a close walk to the restaurants. The Metro stops right at the hotel, and the AeroBus stops very close by. The breakfast is phenomenal - 17 Euros, but worth it.
“Great hotel, very well located and good service.”
