“A great choice”
We used the Sheraton as our base for a week whilst touring Lisbon and surrounding areas. Great to come back to, but we did avoid the expense of breakfast, spa and swimming pool. We found the staff incredibly helpful and friendly and the comfort level high. As for getting around in Lisbon, there is a constant flow of cheap, metered taxis. Further afield we loved the laid back feel of Cascais and were amazed by Sintra (Quinta da Regaleira's garden is unforgettable).
““Great Hotel, Friendly Staff, Fantastic Location”
I can only say good things about the hotel. The front desk staff are very helpfull. The rooms has been recently refurbished. The spa is good, the gym is very new with modern equipments. The Internet is very expensive, 19 Euros for 24 hours, but depending where your room is, you can connect with a public wifi service called FON_ZON_FREE for 2.90 Euros a day. The restaurant on the top floor has a great view of the city. I got a great value from Expedia.com for 80 Euros a night!
“Uncommunicative and unhelpful staff”
I cannot emphasise enough how disappointed I was with this hotel. Whilst the lobby area and hotel rooms are furnished to a high standard, the abismal customer service and total inability of staff to communicate effectively made for an extremely poor experience. Upon check-in, my partner and I were upgraded to the Club Floor. We were specifically informed that breakfast was included in light of our upgrade and that we could either have breakfast in the club lounge or downstairs. On the first morning we opted to have breakfast downstairs and afterwards we were presented with a bill. When we gave our room number there was no indication this would happen and nor was it expected in light of the specific representation made at checkin. Naturally, we protested and after an embarrasing conversation with the hotel mananger he reversed the charge but maintained that breakfast downstairs was not included in our rate. He did not say that breakfast in the club lounge was not included either so my partner and I chose to have breakfast there the next day. We were also presented with a bill there! This hotel is not in a great location - over 2km from the city centre. Top floor bar lacks character. Maids look away as you pass and wish them a good morning. It also costs 12.50 euro per day to use the swimming pool. Spend your money elsewhere.
“lovely Lisbon”
Our reason for going to Lisbon, was to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, Lisbon didn't let us down. From our pick up at the airport in a lovely Mercedes s class, the welcome and 5 nights we had at the Sheridan Hotel, the lovely food and service we experienced in Lisbon and Cascais, my wife and i wil lhave very fond memories of our short and anjoyable stay. i will recommend and use Expedia again, everything was made easy and stressless to monitor. Thank you for great service and information.
“Excellent Lisbon experience”
Excellent hotel with friendly pleasant staff.Room was wonderful - towels and linen changed daily if requested.Surprised that paper cups were supplied for in-room tea/coffee - out of character with the rest of 5 star facilities.Good location for main square for "hop -on/off" city tour buses;20 min walk to main city restaurant area BUT plenty good quality eating place around the hotel area;also shopping malls close by. Taxi airport transfer only 10/12 euros and 15 minutes away. Overall excellent.
“sheraton”
excellent experience . The breakfest prices were too high
“Lisbon's business hotel”
This is essentially a business hotel, and not really for families with young children. No bottle warmers. No cots. But the big downside is that you have to pay to use the pool. The Spa is excellent, and I had a wonderful massage, but it was a shame that we couldn't regularly use the pool after a long day sightseeing.
“Lisbon Aug 2010”
A top hotel with very, very helpful staff. We got upgraded on arrival due to my Starwood Guest membership which was a nice bonus. Easy to get around but always had a good supply of taxis waiting to take you to your destination if the heat means you don't fancy walking. Drinks in the hotel bar a bit on the pricey side, but hey it is a hotel bar after all. Only down side is you need to pay extra to use the pool. 12 euros gets you use of the pool and all the other facilities in the spa (you have to pay extra for any treatments) which I thought was steep for the one hour I wanted to actually use the pool. Bit miffed that was not advertised anywhere and strange to have to pay to use your own pool. Apart from that, no faults or complaints with the hotel itself, location or staff. Would stay again - if I didn't intend to use the pool!
“Very very nice”
We visited Lisbon before returning home having attended a wedding in Tomar. We stayed 2 nights at the Sheraton. The room was great, very comfortable king size bed, and a nice extra bed for our 13 year old. Bathroom was ultra-modern with all you can ask for. The room was clean but we found a flip-flop behind the curtain, forgotten by the previous guests which leads us to believe they didn't vacuum everywhere. The metro is only a few steps away and the ride to the center is quick and easy. Also there is a shopping center across the street where you can have breakfast at reasonable prices if you do not wish to pay the Sheraton prices. We would go back to this hotel.
“Would go back in a flash”
The hotel is well located and has been beautifully renovated in a modern style. We were in a Club room and had access to the club lounge which was no really adequate for a hotel of this reputation. They could improve the lounge. It was good value for the money we paid. The Club room was very comfortable, bathroom very good if you like the all glass look, personally I would have preferred more privacy with the bathroom but all in all it was very good. Would recommend this hotel. Pool is an extra cost.
