“very impressed”
The hotel was the perfect location in the old town, easy access to the entire city. And the hotel itself was very creative, colorful, entertaining, classy, and pulled all these traits together nicely. I'll visit Lisboa more often just to stay at this hotel, and try their different themed rooms.

“Delightfully quirky”
We spent four nights at the Internacional Design Hotel to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary and we really enjoyed our stay.. It is very modern and quirky and a nice change from chain hotels which are all much the same. We had the breakfast buffet which was excellent but did not dine there as we like to explore. It is very conveniently situated and, despite its central position, was not noisy. The rooms are not large which might bother some people but the bathroom was a decent size . I suspect that a person of more ample proportions than me (I am about 56kg) might find lying back in the bath tricky as it is narrow but the shower was excellent.
“Lisoboa's prime location!”
International Design Hotel was a prime location in Lisboa! Minutes away from all main downtown attractions, Metro as well as tourist busses and trolleys. Staff was extremely accommodating, breakfast offered in hotel is well worth the price; new chef recently hired did not disappoint in quality, variety and presentation of meals offered. Every room is equipped with small Nespresso machine; clean and very modern design. Overall- great choice!
“We loved it”
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel - a recomendation in itself! This is a true gem right in the heart of Lisbon. In contrast to the historic and traditional beauty of the city, the Internacional Design Hotel is modern, quirky, welcoming and fun! Each floor has a different theme, with some great views over Rossio Square from some of the rooms. The location is superb - immediate access to metro, buses and train, and walking distance to many places of interest. Breakfast is a buffet style and although a little pricey is well worth having. Lots of choice and variety, and staff on hand for individual requests (cappuchinos, eggs, etc), anything not immediately available is usually catered for. This is a great base for a stay in Lisbon, and while we were there had a wide range of guests, including families with small children and older couples. A great experience.
“totally impressed!!”
The location of this hotel being right on Rossio Square was fabulous. We could look from our balcony down past the many sidewalk cafes to the Tegus River. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with all of our questions. The rooms were very clean and modern. The theme of the hotel was fun! We stayed for a week, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It was great!
“vickiNC”
Location GREAT! A little too trendy for me. Very expensive, but paying for location! Reception not very knowledgeable about surrounding restaurants, but did try. Bartender unfriendly. Rooms nice but ours was extremely small.
“Something a bit different”
Hotel could not have been better placed (right in the city centre with taxis, metro, bus and restaurants all close by). Our room (a Pop Experience one) had a bright green wall and ceiling and pink spotted floor tiles but that was all part of the fun, as was the mirror placed opposite the frosted glass door to the bathroom which allowed (unintentionally surely?) a glimpse of one's room mate on the loo. Otherwise the bathroom, though small, was very cleverly designed and the orchid was a nice touch. The room was clean, quiet and had good air-conditioning, a comfy bed and a nice big TV. We didn't have breakfast on our room rate but we treated ourselves one morning and can recommend it. The staff were lovely and the welcome drink the first evening much appreciated. Best hotel we've been to in ages.
“Great location, tiny room.”
The hotel is on a corner of Rossio, at the heart of the action, and a block from a metro stop and major city bus terminus. On a pedestrian street full of shops, food, etc. Just where you want to be. Our room, the small, was tiny. The bed was two twin mattresses together on a base, There was about 2 feet on three sides - bed of course against the front wall. Room thankfully had a bay french window so we had a place for our luggage. Luggage on the wrong side of the curtains, so care had to be taken when getting stuff. The room description claims a desk and chair. None present, and no room. No sitting at all except the bed. No quiet place to sit and read in the hotel. Bathroom small but modern and functional. Our room was in the old section, so the elevator, in the new section, stopped between old section floors. Always a stair case to be walked. Hotel is painfully "hip". Funny colors, rooms with names, colored toilet paper and towels keyed to rooms - which they can't keep straight. Bar/restaurant is full of pounding music. We had our complimentary drink their and never returned. We did not take the expensive breakfast option. Wonderful food is available right around the corner at many cafe's.
“JUST RIGHT”
The hotel was spot on. The hotel was very stylish, a lot of thought had gone into the design. My only criticism is that our room was an internal bedroom with a view of the Atrium and we personally prefer more natural light. Having said that we were really looked after and the location couldn`t have been better. Breakfast was extremely good quality and so was room service.
