“Great reasonable Choice”

This hotel is 10 yrs old, but you wouldn't know it. Very modern and very clean. While modestly appointed and utilitarian, a great choice for travelers. While it is at the top of a steep hill (and a challenge if you are going to walk along the main boulevard) it has easy access to good restaurants, a safe student area, a beautiful park overlooking the city (St. Peter's) and the fernicular nearby as an alternative to walking up the hill. Just 5-10 min. from the Aerobus stop to the airport. The staff was quite helpful and the breakfast reasonably priced (E6). Nice leasurely walk to Boixa area of the city. Would stay there again.

“Once settled, an enjoyable stay”

The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious. The surrounding area was quiet. There's an easily accessible taxi stand at the bottom of the hill and it's a rather straightforward walk to the Rossio. The front desk staff was helpful. The 24 hour food and drink service at the desk is quite nice especially if you are coming in late. The only problem is that the hotel was a little hard to find. My original cab driver left me off at the wrong Hotel because there's a distinct difference between the assumed pronunciation of the hotel and the actual Portuguese way of saying it. Subsequent cab rides taught me to give the name of the hotel and "Rua Barata Salgueiro. " Remember this for your own trip in and you'll save yourself an adventurous walk with your luggage up the hill.
