“Palicio Estoril Experience”
As a couple, we have celebrated birthdays in Estoril now for a few years and most of them have been at Palacio Estoril. It is a wonderful place that I would recommend to everyone. This year they had moved the breakfast room to a smaller place because of a conference or some similar corporate event, this made the breakfast a little bit crowded but once the event was over, the breakfast was restored to its former home. I think that was putting the corporate event in preference to the regular guests is a mistake but apart from that I can find no fault. Without exception, the staff is a team of dedicated professionals who make guests feel at home. I hope we can continue to return for many more years.
“Old Fashioned Quality”
The Palacio radiates Old Fashioned Quality from the moment one arrives. An immaculate gentleman, note.. not a doorman, a gentleman, opens the car door, he is dressed in a bright coat, with a red peaked cap, and eppulates worthy of any Aide de Camp (without being too camp) and white gloves. I am going to over-use the word "immaculate" because it describes everything about the place, from the linen one beds and tables, the towels, the well lit bathroom, and mercy of mercies a bath where one does not have to perform back wrenching gymnastics round a fixed glass shower shield to turn on the taps, Breakfast superb, loads of space, and everything you need dealt with straight away. I think by booking through Experdia obrained a great deal, and even though the trip was in mid August the Luton flight, the taxi arranged all meant we were sitting by the pool before lunch. Just one plea, and one only. Maybe few more loungers and perhaps not just around the pool. There is a delightful and well kept (what else ?) garden, and a few chairs there would have meant a less frought looking pool attendant trying to find chairs for those who came in later in the aftrernoon. Next time I go, and hopefully I will, it will not be in August, I dont actually hate noisy kids (with 10 grandchildren It's not hate...) but I am told that there is not so much noise emenating from them at other times of year l so I shall look at May or September. The taxi driver told me its cheaper then as well ..
“Fantastic”
Beautiful hotel - lives up to all the reviews. Special experience and for the money is good value. Make sure you get a pool view for the great view of cascais. Breakfast a little manic but great choice. Get early to the pool at weekends
“Excellent Hotel, Beautiful Place to Visit”
I chose this hotel because of the great reviews. I was not disappointed. I really liked the old fashioned atmosphere. I felt like I stepped back in time. The room was very clean if not a little small; however, I paid the lowest rate so I am not surprised that I didn't get a larger room. Regardless, it was comfortable. The service was top notch. In particular, I needed to travel from the hotel into the city of Lisbon. The doorman arranged for a car (not a taxi) and got me a very good rate. I was so appreciative because with a cab, you never know what you might end up spending. The town of Estoril is really nice; however, there isn't much to do unless you want to visit the casino or hang out on Tamariz Beach. I recommend walking along the ocean esplanade to the city of Cascais. There are numerous restaurants, things to see, shopping, etc. This is quite possibly the most beautiful place I have been in Europe.
“A great finish to a wonderful Portugal holiday”
Rooms are well appointed. Large and every comfort available. Mimi-fridge is small and typically European, not very cold. However, we do not tend to use them anyway. Outdoor pool is beautiful. Quiet, romantic, and full breakfast was lovely. Food prices pool side a bit steep, but otherwise excellent. Attendants will reserve a chaise for you there upon request. The casino is right next door if you choose to visit. Because we were only there for a couple of days, and at the end of our holiday, we did not venture out to the surrounding area. I would recommend hiring a driver at the airport (through the information kiosk) to arrange travel to and from the hotel. Otherwise, it will require that you take a bus to Lisbon's city center and catch a train out to Estoril, then walk to the hotel.
“Nice Place...a cut above the rest.”
Service was excellent, rooom was very nice andquiet and comfortable. Staff very helpful.
“Fantastic hotel, fabulous service”
You will not be disappointed with this hotel, Hotel Palacio is a shining example of professionalism and the highest standards of customer service, rarely seen in Europe. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, the pool is huge and it is easy to while away many a lazy afternoon sitting by its edge sipping a cool glass of the local rose and reading a book. I will definitely be going back.
“Great Hotel”
Truly one of the great hotels with old fashioned courtesy and service from all the staff.
“Palacio Hotel, Estoril Lisbon”
I'm not one to write a great deal normally but we had such a great stay at this lovely hotel I feel compelled to. They say it's grand but cosy and this is exactly what we thought. all the staff were lovely. It was our 5 year wedding anniversary and when booking through expedia I mentioned that and waiting in our room on our arrival was a really nice bottle of champagne and some delightful chocolate truffles. All week we really looked after and they let us keep our till 5pm as our flight was later. Wonderful place. Yes there is building work going on but they were the quietest builders I have ever heard!!
“A real 5 star hotel!”
Everything about the hotel was exceptional, including dinner at the four seasons restaurant! Will go back!!
