“Best location for walking around Biaxa Region of Lisbon”
Best location for walking around Biaxa Region of Lisbon. Always taxi cabs outside the door. Very short walk to the nearest Metro (subway) stop.
“Nice”
Lovely roof terrace bar with panoramic views of the city. Staff all extremely helpful. Beds very firm. Location excellent - v.central and trams and buses practically on the doorstep.
“Not a four star hotel”
Rooms are small and don't reflect the quality you would expect for a four-star hotel. Lots of things didn't work: climate control, TV, hot water, light switches, internet access. My first room had a terrible sewage smell and the first staff member didn't want to do anything about it except "look into it." Most staff are surly, the good ones are very good at what they do. The one exception is the restaurant with good food and an excellent staff. I would not stay here again.
“Recommended”
Well situated in easy walking distance from airport bus and to old city centre with plenty of good value places to eat. Comfortable and spacious room (ours had a view of the square). Friendly English speaking staff on reception. Very wide choice at breakfast, efficiently kept re-stocked. What more could you want?
“Excellent Location”
This hotel is in an excellent location in the heart of Lisbon and close to all local transport links. Room was standard for modern city centre hotel. Little in way of character but a clean, reasonable sized room with all the usual amenities. Breakfast was good and although the dining room was busy we never had to wait for a table. The restaurant on the top floor was excellent with beautiful views but expensive so we just treated ourselves once. The roof top bar must have one of the best views in Lisbon but is only open in the evenings. Treat yourself to a drink and watch the sunset.
“Would definitely go again!”
We decided to visit Lisbon on our way down to our villa in the Algarve. Where to stay in a city you don't know? I chose the Hotel Mundial because it was close to city's number one attraction, the Castle of St George and because of it's value for money. It was absolutely perfect for are number one objective and it was also close to all the main tourist hubs offering proximity to the tourist bus routes and the train station to go out to Sintra. The hotel staff were curteous and helpful, it's two restaurants provided excellent food and service and the newly opened rooftop bar gave us a wonderful panoramic view of the city, including the castle and the river. We arrived before the official check in but as our room was ready we were given the key immediately. All my UK/European adaptors were in the Algarve and they tried to source one for me. We left well after the check out time but our bags were stored securely while we toured the city. Tired we sat in the spacious lounge taking liquid refreshment and recouperating before taking a taxi to the train station for our journey south. We had a most enjoyable stay; we will be back!
“very good location, close to Rossi Metro station”
Good location, close to Rossi plaza, which has been the center of Lisbon for 6 centuries. Now the Rossi subway station offers easy access to Cais de Sodre train station if you plan a trip to Cascais or Estoril. Mundial Hotel is at walking distance from Rua Augusta, and all the good shopping and restaurants in the area. The hotel is close to the stop of "Hop on-hop off" bus, and close to Alfama , and the Fado Museum. We walked one evening from the hotel to Chiado to listen to a Fado concert. Breakfast was great, good to start a day with such a variety of healthy food.
“Great Value and Location”
I really enjoyed my stay at the Mundial Hotel. The hotel's location was fantastic - walking distance to Rossio, the avenue of restaurants, the Castle of Jorge, the Chiado district, and much more. My corner room was very clean and large. It had huge windows allowing us to see the plaza outside. The bed was a little hard for my personal liking. Best of all, this hotel was a fantastic value. Parking was included in the price (which can be very expensive in Lisbon) as was a breakfast buffet. I would highly recommend it to my friends.
“it'sdated.”
although the hotel was revamped it's already dated. The safe in the room lacked a lock which had to be hired per day, and whilst there was a mini bar, chargable, there wasn't any tea/coffee making facilities I expect. I've stayed in Lisbon before and will again just not here.
“Ah! Lisboa the beautiful”
The location of the Mundial is perfect. Easy access to all the districts of Lisboa. Nice breakfast as part of the package. This is a very busy tourist hotel so sometimes it can take up to 10 minutes to access the elevators. We would definitely go back.
