“Unbeatable Location!”
My boyfriend and I stayed here and the location was perfect, it's near everything. We stayed in the double bed with no bathroom option. There was one shower and one toilet in separate rooms, shared on the floor. This option was clearly for young people, more of a hostel feel. I didn't look at other rooms but there were a variety of accommodations available for all travelers. Best possible location, will go here again for sure. Recommended very highly.
“Great location and affordable”
The location is great, right between Alfama and Chiado. It is more a nice pension than a hotel, with many rooms without bathroom. I did not notice that my reservation did not include a bathroom, but managed to get one upon arrival at the reception, for 2 digit euros a night. My room was recently renovated, small but very comfortable and clean, with AC, flat screen, great shower and balcony... but my friend was not as lucky and got an old room overlooking a shaft, strange bathroom, only a fan and old furniture, like a different hotel! The helpful staff, however, managed to change her room in the next day to a better one. The breakfast could be richer, but I guess it was included (friends staying close to us had to pay extra in their fancy hotel). Overall, it is a great value in the heart of Lisbon and I would stay there again!
“Great location, minimal comfort”
Location is ideal - 3 blocks from important Metro station, heart of central Lisbon, near many attractions, shopping, restaurants. Desk staff is multilingual and helpful. LInens were fresh and clean. dining room is pleasant. Rooms, however, are very basic and small. Bathrooms down hall were functional, one with toilet and sink, another with sink and shower, sometimes busy. Lighting in room was too poor to read at night, fan and TV did not work. Room was warm unless window open and area, especially at front of hotel on Rua Victroria, stays very noisy until wee hours of morning. Avoid the room across from the lift on 5th floor - lift is busy and noisy. In short, great location for money but don't plan to spend any time in your room. Works best if you party late and sleep in.
“Lasy laid Back Lisbon”
Perfect mini break in mid Februaury. Explore Alfama, Belem, and take a train out to Sintra to explore the castles and Moorish Fortress. Trip out a bit of a pain in that we had to wait fo 6 hours for our connecting flight from Zaventem/Brussels, so we took the train into Brussels and had €12,95 Moules et frites at the famous Chez Leon. Explore Grand Place. Lisbon is great! We stayed at Duas Nacoes (2 Natinons) in the Commercial area - a cheap 3 star hotel, worn but spotless. DIY continental breakfast, so eat heartily! We walked to Alfama, tokk the tram to Belem, and train to fabulous Sintra. Fantastic food away from the tourist areas, but watch out for very pushy touts around the (frighteningly) expensive Fado restaurants. Had a fab time, will go back again to explore further afield.
“Location perfect, standard low.”
The location is perfect - the old town area, close to attractions, subway, trams, buses and restaurants. The standard is rather low. If you are looking for location go for it but if you want to spend time at the hotel look for something different.
“super location”
super location, very small rooms, very small and poorly functioning tv. Adequate for the total price paid. I think breakfast is better than Iin any cheap motel in USA
“Never book a room without the bathroom!!”
The hotel, for the price and location can streach to 5 out of 5...Otherwise...I am not a very demanding customer but I need to have basics which is a good service and the cleanless...The service was not what I expected...Long waiting before being served at the desk plus not really helpful with the car rental. In fact, not useful at all...I was disappointed as it tured out the desk clerk could not find a car rental company in the whole of Lisbon for me...I could not believe this!!! They had only one leaflet and the cars were all booked so I had to struggle to find a vehicle. Shame. And the standard of the bath/toilet...APPALLING. The rooms were clean, all right, but bathroom was a HORROR (5th floor). Water still in the bath, blocked sink, it was sick. I have never experienced anything like it anywhere before...But, I guess that's the price you pay if you are ready to share the toilet with another 10 rooms on the corridor...But still...Id never expect it to be THAT BAD. Breakfasts? Coffee hardly drinkable. Other food - fresh, ok. I'd only recommend it for the FANTASTIC location, Traveller
“Great Stay in Lisbon”
My mother and I arrived in the evening and had no problem checking into the hotel. The staff was very helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. It was centrally located and easy to get to various sites in Lisbon.
“worth the cost”
Staff was friendly. Location is near the major sites and on a quiet street. The room was small like most european rooms, bed was comfortable. Hotel was old but kept up fairly well.
“Small shabby room, great location”
Great downtown location close to bus and metro, Rossio, Alfama, everything. The room, a double with bathroom, was so small that my husband and I couldn't walk past each other, and had to crouch down to use the toilet. Furthermore, the room was old and sad, stained carpet, thin mattress. Overall, it was okay.
