“95% happy”

Happy with all aspects of the hotel. However, it could do with some facility in the room to make a cup of tea or coffee. Otherwise everything was good for us.

Dining
Vin Rouge restaurant was great for quality and attentiveness of staff. Lovely food to Michelin standard without Michelin price tag. So glad we went there.

“Luxury in Cascais”

This is a modern, true 5 star hotel, with an amazing swimming pool and ocean view. Great spacious rooms and large bathrooms - all ocean view rooms have balconies and the two restaurants serve very good meals. Very nice polished staff, most speak English. Very pleasant stay. Highly recommend this hotel. Can't wait to go back to Lisbon and stay there the next time a little longer...

Area recommendations
I loved this hotel so much that I just didn't want to leave and go anywhere else, but Lisbon has a lot see and Cascais is a pleasant 30 minute drive to the city. When visiting Belem, one must stop by the famous bakery to have the famous " Pasteis de Belem" or the delicious custard milk pastries that are very unique to Belem. The Portuguese are crazy about their pastries and this sight is the cream de la cream... Also, make a point to visit Sintra's Castle - impressive sightseeing!
Dining
Be prepared to eat really well in Lisbon, as the City has a much lower cost of living than most European cities under the Euro zone. And always, have Portuguese wine, not to be missed on any meals...

“amazingly gorgeous”

we stayed four nights at this gorgeous hotel after completion of a 16-day luxury cruise. The hotel's design & the accessories are delightful; full of beautifully displayed tropical plants. The breakfast buffet was ample, beautifully presented, & delicious. The location is visually ideal, but the walk to the beach was a littly much. It was worth going there, however, in the evening, because there are several casual, but delicious restaurants on the beach.

“A 5* disappointment”

We were very disappointed in our stay. Although we had booked a deluxe double room with terrace, we were first given a very dark room with no terrace at the end of the 4th floor. The bellboy gave us no information about the room and couldn't wait to leave. The following day, after complaining that we'd booked a room with a terrace, we were given a twin bedded room on the 4th floor (we had specifically requested a double bedded romm) with a small terrace with a roof and no sun. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Service in the bar was poor - 30 minutes to get a cup of tea. Hotel location is appalling. It is on a dual carriageway and separated from the beach/esplanade by a dual carriageway and a railwayline. It is only possible to exit the hotel by car by travelling in the direction of Cascais. The only way to walk into Cascais is a 15 min walk along the busy road or a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction to find the nearest underpass onto the espalanade followed by a 25 minute walk into Cascais. There is ongoing building work next door.

“Can't Wait to Return....It is the ONLY place to stay in Cascais!”

The hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Our room was amazing… the view of the ocean and the pool is not to be missed. I took so many pictures of the pool…. It is so pretty it almost doesn’t seem real. The entire hotel is very plush… and 5 stars all the way. I have stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world and this ranks right up there with the 4 Seasons and that caliber of hotel (but for a fraction of the price!). The room is nicely appointed (flat screen tv, large marble bathroom, VERY large balcony, king size bed) but the view is what seals the deal. Make sure you request an ocean view… it makes the experience. Cascais is the nicest town by the sea. You can walk into town for lunch, dinner, shopping. We had some amazing meals. All in All this was the perfect vacation spot. Sintra is a short drive away for historical sites and seeing the large ruins and castles and Lisbon is a short train ride away. You have it all at your finger tips while having the luxury of a beach getaway. Definitely leave a day in your schedule for lounging/sunning by the pool! I just can’t say enough good things about Hotel Cascais Miragem… it is the perfect vacation hotel in Portugal!

Getting there
Take the Aerobus from the airport to the train station (end of the line) and take the train to Cascais (end of the line). The train station is just a 5 minute walk to the hotel.

“Fantastic Hotel”

I would recommend this hotel to any traveler looking for a relaxing weekend in Portugal. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, with a very grand two story lobby entrance. Right away they upgraded me to a deluxe ocean view room with a very large balcony. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and calling taxis for me. The buffet breakfast was lovely as you could sit out next to the endless horizon pool on the third floor. Everything in the hotel was perfect. I would definitely stay there again. As an added bonus, I stayed in the hotel during the Estoril Open, which meant that it was full of tennis players. Even though I definitely wasn't the hotel's most important guest that week, I still felt like I was getting the star treatment. The hotel also has a spa and gym. The gym seemed very busy and had several classes running when I went to visit. I had a massage at the spa, which was not unreasonable, but it was nothing special. Definitely visit when it's warm out as the best part of the hotel is the gorgeous pool. However, the location isn't terribly convenient unless you hire a car. The hotel will call you a taxi, but it is difficult to find taxis to take you back from locations other than Lisbon.

Getting there
Get a taxi voucher from the tourist desk at the Lisbon airport. It will cost you about €55.
Nightlife
The bar and restaurant inside the hotel weren't very popular eventhough I was there on a busy weekend. I would recommend going to the Casino Estoril for a night out. It's only about a 15-20min walk or a 5 min cab ride.

“a gem”

Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is a bit on the pricier side but, it has all the amenities. The room was very comfortable really big and the washroom was a room in itself. Work out room is fantastic with classes, they have a business center for customer use. The breakfast was good and the view was even better. Very friendly staff. The view is great and Cascais is a hidden gem absolutely beautiful and only 30mins from downtown Lisbon.

Traveller's tip
Visit Sintra and go to the Cascais train station and get free rentals for the day a great way to discover Cascais and ride down to the beaches.

“Very impressed”

We stayed here for four nights from the 22nd June. Lovely hotel and stunning views. No rush or need to reserve sunbeds as always free. Breakfast great and able to eat it in the garden. Only downside is the current building work next door to the hotel which you get used to but can be a trifle annoying at times. Would definitely return there.
