“View from Connecticut”
Very friendly staff. Great looking hotel. Good location. Great breakfast only complaint is th at the mattress was too hard
“Fine hotel experience”
Very nice hotel in a good location.
“Charming and comfortable hotel”
The hotel was very charming-- an updated version of old world elegance. We had a double room with comfortable beds. The location was excellent - near everything, but not noisy. The bathroom was large and well-appointed. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous-- especially the concierage. The dining room and breakfast were lovely. I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to others.
“Adequate”
Hotel was OK. Nothing special, but nice. Breakfast included which made it easy. Rooms very small and uncomfortable.
“Excellent value and service”
Hotel Aviz is an excellent choice when visiting Lisbon. The location of the hotel is walking distance to many restaurants and shops, with the metro just around the corner. The front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. The buffet breakfast in the morning was plentiful, providing hot and cold selections. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was large with all the amenities. My only complaint was the beds were very hard, which initially concerned us. However, we quickly got used to it and actually slept extremely well the entire stay. Maybe there is something to be said about a very hard mattress! We would definitely recommend this hotel.
“A nice hotel”
Overall a very clean and aceptable 4* hotel. Staff typically portuguese friendly and helpful, room (303) smallish and inward looking but ok as only used for sleeping! bathroom modern and clean but no tissues (a minor issue) complimentary coffee/tea tray would have been appreciated. In our opinion and the bar area in reception could perhaps be more people friendly and maybe more private although bar staff, when in attendance were fine.
“Excellent”
Hotel staff very pleasant and keen to help. For city centre, room was spacious, well eqipped, with no noise problems. Good breakfast, including excellent pastais de nata.
“Not impressed”
Newly renovatedand very clean. Great breakfast. Small room and the hardest bed we have ever slept on. Location is OK, not great. Rollaway bed was very expensive and not comfortable. More of a business hotel.
“Will definitely stay here next time in Lisbon.”
Good location, quiet neighborhood. Metro station is one minute walk from the hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful.
“Everything we expected, and more.”
The hotel is in an easily accessible side street but very close to one of the city's hubs for transport - the Marques de Pombal 'square' - so getting on a variety of buses, the Metro etc. was very easy, and the airport bus (aero shuttle) stops quite close by too. Travel cards and Lisboa cards for 1-, 2- or 3-days are excellent value. We travelled everywhere by public transport using these, or walking. The hotel sound-proofing is excellent! We had asked for a room with a view and were given one on the 6th floor overlooking the city (as much as the view allowed) so that was fine. We were able to access our room at 2pm just as expected. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts (which are very important to us when thinking of booking a hotel) were buffet style with many and varied choices - hot and cold, sweet and savoury, fresh fruit etc. and every day included mini versions of the famous Lisbon custard tarts the city is famous for. We had an excellent stay, and we would definitely go back when next in Lisbon!
