“Will use it next time”

I found Hotel Altis to be easy to access and in a quiet street. Close to the metro, downtown and good restaurants. The rooms are good size and the staff pleasant.

Area recommendations
You should visit Belem and some of the old city
When to go
Summer (July and August) is too hot for most North Americans. Try spring or fall.

“Cheerless modern, but serviceable”

Hotel is big-box and charmless, and not at all what I expect from a hotel billed as 5-star. On the positive side, price was good, hotel was clean, staff was friendly and responsive, and location was reasonably convenient to Lisbon sights and public transportation.

Area recommendations
Seeing Lisbon requires using public transport except for the fittest and most intrepid (lots of hills), so easy access to trains/buses/trams is key. Stay close to the Avenue Liberdade and the Rossario and you will be fine.

“ALTIS à LISBONNE : UNE BONNE ADRESSE”

Hotel très banal, mais offrant tout ce que les services que l'on attend de lui. Personnel agréable et attentif. Rien de charmant, mais la certitude de ne pas avoir de mauvaises surprises. Très bonne situation dans la ville.

“Hôtel Altiss Lisbonne”

Hôtel moderne dans les années 60-70 . Il fut sûrement très beau, il est maintenant désuet et un peu triste. Plutôt proche du centre. Je pense qu'un hôtel en travaux doit le signaler par hônneteté(je parle de gros travaux comme ici : agrandissement d'un corps de bâtiment qui ébranle l'ensemble). La réaction a été immédiate et efficace puisque on nous a trouvé une chambre au calme mais le problème ne devrait pas être.

“Hotel Altis di Lisbona - in luogo tranquillo e in 5 minuti a piedi si è nel cuore della città”

L'hotel è all'altezza delle sue 5 stelle. Camere ampie e pulite. Unica eccezione è la dimensione del letto matrimoniale (in pratica una piazza e mezzo). Situato in strada tranquilla e parallela all'arteria principale Avenida de Libertade che conduce al Centro Città.

Area recommendations
L'area attorno alla Avenida de Libertade permette i breve tempo tutti i collegamenti con metro, bus, tram, e stazioni ferroviarie.
When to go
Ho utilizzato il periodo della prima decade di Luglio e ho trovato tempo stabile e ventilato con l'eccezione di 2 giornate molto calde (ma era così anche in buona parte d'Europa).
Getting around
Se non amate in particolare i musei, fornitevi comunque di una tesserina per i soli trasporti (presso gli Uffici Postali) valide a scelta per uno, due, o tre giorni. Permettono un uso indifferenziato di tram, metro e bus. Visitate anche i dintorni (tipo a Belem e Cascais).
Dining
Evitare i ristoranti prettamente per i turisti (li riconosci dai camerieri che ti attendono in mezzo alla strada col menù in mostra). Molto abbordabili le Tasquinas o Alcade, trattorie frequentatissime da impiegati e lavoratori del posto do ve si mangiano piatti tipici a prezzi modici.

“Das Hotel Altis liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe von wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten”

Das Hotel ist im Stile der 80er Jahre eingerichtet.Etwas altbacken, aber sauber.Zimmerservice war ok. In derMini Bar befanden sich bei unserer Anreise alte Äpfel, und Schimmel, was aber nach Beschwerde an der Rezeption sofort beseitigt wurde.

Die gesamte Stadt Lissabon ist sehenswert.
