“nice hotel and close to Metro”
Clean nice hotel and 5 minutes walk to Metro station" Campo Pequeno" . Friendly English speaking service and fresh fruit breakfast. And close to the airport and it takes less than 15 minutes by taxi.
“No facilities - Not impressed”
Hotel was Ok but was very dated and time worn. Staff were helpful and all spoke English very well. Thare was no restaurant or food services in the hotel at all which was annoying because for 3 days the weather was bad..... we had to leave the hotel even if we only wanted coffee and snacks. This wasn't easy as there aren't any eateries close by. The bar is only open from 6 pm and has zero atmosphere. ..Just a counter with a few bottles behind it. If you want a place to sleep, leave in the morning, then return and go directly to bed it;'s fine. (Unless you want breakfast....That is definitely something to be avoided at this hotel.)
“close to transport”
This hotel is next to Campo Pequeno ( bullfighting ring) with supermarket underground; excellent restaurants where the locals eat and the Hop - on - off bus stops just across the surrounding park. The metro is also across the park, taxi 4-5 Euro into city centre and 5 -6 Euro from the airport. Staff at reception heplful in booking tours and local information. A little way out , however, in a quiet area with easy access to city centre. Sintra well worth visiting. Return train trip 4.6 euros from Rossio Station. Buy 5 Euro tourist bus ticket at Sintra station to take you to the palace and castle and return to train station.
“quite dated hotel but the staff will make your stay nice (free chocolate and water in the room)”
the rooms are dated, carpet worn, decor and furniture from 70ies, bathroom same with some exceptions. Location at a very nice bull fighting arena (restaurants) However this hotel has good rates (I know why), easy to reach from airport (taxi is 6 EUR during day and 7,5 during at night with luggage (1,6 EUR extra) and with public transport you can easily reach sightseeing attractions We used it for a short night before our return flihgt to Germany
“Lisbon stay”
We stayed one night on the last leg of our 2 week European travels. Always like Lisbon, and this was a great hotel in good proximity to Airport for early departure. Hotel parking is 7 euros. Akward hotel to get into as there is a large median right in front so you have to drive up and do a u-turn. Not much in the area for places to see/eat and a little outdated. Price we paid was $20 more than it was 2 hours before when I first found it...
“Perfect choice!”
The hotel is lovely inside and the room was small but all we needed! The hotel is sutuated next the bull ring which has a mall underneath and restaurants surrounding it. The Hotel is well located as the metro is a 2 minute walk - the metro is very simplistic and easy to use. To taxi back to the hotel from the old quater is only about 6/7 euro. The concierge was fantastic - he was able to reccommend us an excellent beach to go to and exactly which trains/metro's to use to get there. He helped us with maps and any questions we had he was happy to draw routes on our map to guide us on our way. This is a great hotel for seeing the city close enough to everything but not too close to be kept awake.
“very nice hotel”
very good hotel in the hub access
“Great Spot in Lisbon”
As a 3-star hotel, ALIF is not luxurious, but it is extremely comfortable, clean and perfect for a visit to the beautiful city of Lisbon. The staff is competent, polite and helpful. They answered our questions, including those on tours. They recommended tours and actually sold tickets at the hotel. Breakfast in the lovely 9th floor with a view of the neighborhood is a treat! The dining room is spacious and nicely decorated. The food is quite good, with many items, including fresh fruits, to choose from. The hotel gets perfect scores for location. It is convenient to the metro and a number of bus stops, including the tour bus. It was easy getting to the University where the conference I attended was held. Alif is across the Campo Pequeno, which has a small mall and a vibrant food court. For more fancy dining, there are two Brazilian restaurants close by. The Rodizio Grill is a great place to dine. The sumptuous buffet was really good and the owner is very nice. I will definitely stay at the Alif the next time I visit Lisbon. But I would upgrade to a suite. We were able to see a suite that was being cleaned and noticed that it is a huge difference from the standard room that we stayed in.
“I definitely shall return to the hotel if I come back to Lisbon again.”
Same comment as above.
“Great hotel !”
A great value for the money. staff was very helpful, room was ready early so we could check in and go sightseeing. It was located very close to sightseeing bus route and we bought the tickets at the hotel so jumped on the bus when it came by. Also right next to the old arena and a mall was located in it . Would definitely recommend this hotel. i chose it because of the reviews I read on Expedia!
