“wonderful experience”

From start to finish we had a wonderful stay. The staff went out of their way to help - making bookings etc. Location very central and walking distance to many areas. On our last day we found a complementary decanter of port in the room which was unexpected and a nice touch. I am always a fan of Molton Brown bathroom products too! A definite recommendation...

“An understated gem”

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and also spoke very good English. They coped very kindly with our problems concerning the flight cancellation at the time of the volcanic ash disruption. We also had a disconcerting experience with a taxi journey, which the hotel front desk dealt with well. The hotel has historic connections and has had its art deco design beautifully restored.

“Clean, confortable, excellent service”

The room was huge, quiet, air-conditioned, and had a large comfortable bed. Front desk extremely helpful and went out of their way to assist us. Breakfast's were generous and the location was fine.

“Top recommendation in Lisbon”

We chose the Britania on the basis of glowing online reviews and were not disappointed. From check in to check out staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has an interesting history (see information provided in rooms) and retains its original 1940s elegance and style. Rooms are spacious and well-equipped, with free wi-fi. Ample buffet breakfasts. Location very convenient in a quiet street just off the main Avenida Liberdade. No need to look elswhere in Lisbon if the Britania is in your price range.

“A beautiful city and charming hotel.”

We booked this hotel on the strength of the other reviews we had read and were not disappointed. Gorgeous spacious art deco room and immaculate marble bathroom. The staff were charming, friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. We could walk to central Lisbon very easily and the Avenida metro station was very close for longer journeys. Do visit the Oceanarium at the Expo site - amazing. The castle and monastery at Belem are other musts.
