I loved this hotel. It is within walking distance of the chain bridge and other central Budapest locations. Don't be put off by the check in experience. I was slightly skeptical at first because the folks at reception were rather abrupt at check in and there were no bell staff around to help with my bags. I guess they were just busy somewhere else at the time, because everything turned out well in the end. Bell staff helpful with directions for transit. Room service outstanding. Upon checkout, the reception and concierge staff were extremely helpful and caring in contacting my tour operator so they could locate me. Hotel is in great condition. Decent sized room for Europe, and the lobby decor was inviting. I would stay here again.
Super 4 day stay. Very modern and immaculately clean hotel. Had requested a double bed and tea/coffee set by e mail before stay. Acknowledged promptly and in room on arrival. Front desk staff very pleasant and helpful. Room 402 quiet lovely en suite. A little small but suited us fine. The hotels free wi fi was fast about 10 meg. I hired a portable wi fi worked all over Budapest for only 3 euros a day. Had all walking maps and tourist info on phone. Highly recommended. We paid around 60 pounds a night. Absolute bargain. Breakfast 12 euros each. Wonderful. Freshly cooked full English at the griddle and cold cuts, fruits and cereals. It's only 5 mins walk to river and Varosmarty Square and Vaci Utca main shopping street. Perfect position in Pest. Can't fault it.
My mom and I stayed 4 nights this past week and simply LOVED our stay. I think the hotel was one of our favorite parts of Budapest :) Incredibly helpful and friendly staff, spacious comfortable room, delicious breakfast, clean, great location. I would definitely recommend this little hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant stay in this beautiful city. For dog-lovers, make sure you walk south down Hold street from the hotel in the morning until you find a big grassy square (beginning of Oktober 6 street). Dogs playing EVERYWHERE, it was the highlight of each morning :)
"This is not a 4 star hotel. It is a Bed & Breakfas"
This establishment is published on the Expedia site in the 4 stars category Hotels.
The establishment is at the second floor of a regular apartment building and is composed of only 4 rooms.
No lobby . No reception. I would categorize it as a 3 star hostel.
Price per night for a single person in this area is hugely exaggerated for the facilities and comfort it offers.
In my opinion it should be under the category Bed & Breakfast or Hostels in order to prevent confusion of potential customers ordering it on Expedia.
As a frequent Expedia customer I strongly suggest to remove it from Expedia Hotels and move it to Bed & Breakfast.
Spent 3 nights celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in one of the deluxe rooms. The view, overlooking the square, defined romantic, a veritable fairy tale of lights in the evening. The effect carried into the room with a ceiling suspended linen canopy over the bed, and mood lighting surrounding the bed in a red glow. A bit goofy ,but we loved it. You can even order one of 3 scents for the room. The room itself was palatial, larger than many of the new condos currently for sale in Toronto, 45 sq m, which my rusty math says, may be just under 500 sq ft.
Hotel is nicely situated at one extreme end of the tourist shopping area, walking distance to the christmas market and ferris wheel, making it convenient but still quiet.
Staff was excellent, helping with taxis, printing boarding passes, etc. all reception staff we encountered spoke english well.
We did not make use of the hotel's spa or restaurants. Room service looked to offer the usual north american style fare, although breakfast looked limited to continental. Many reasonably priced, top rated hungarian restaurants, including the Hungarikum Bisztro, are nearby
Great hotel, clean warm and comfortable. The staff were always polite and would do anything to help, recommending restaurants and places to go etc. On the night we arrived they had to transfer us to the sister hotel down the road, it was a 5 minute walk but they paid for a taxi there and back and upgraded our room for the rest of our stay! Excellent service. Only slight (very slight!) Criticism is that although our coffee and sugar was replaced daily we never seemed to get any milk, except on the first and last day.
Would stay again.
The marriott hotel Budapest is one of best hotels. The location is the best . Our room overlooked the Danub over to Buda with a fantastic view. The staff are very friendly and speak good english. The food was also very good . One downfall is that there is no swimming pool at the Hotel. We will be returning.
