All the staff at the Holiday Inn express were very helpful and friendly. Couldn't fault them at all, other 4 class hotels could learn from them! The rooms were comfortable, the food delicious, and the parking easy. It is a quick walk into Lincoln from the hotel, and a short walk to Brayford Quays with numerous restaurants. Ideal for an overnight stay when visiting the university.
The location is excellent, being both on the main waterfront and within five minutes walk of the main shopping centre. Service was polite and efficient without being intrusive: front desk was helpful and though I only saw a member of the domestic staff once in four days, my room was always in perfect condition shortly after hanging the relevant sign on the door (though this may be just because of the usual time that I left). The room itself was very well appointed as well.
The bar had fantastic views and it was nice to be able to sit outside on the fifth floor. The range of drinks wasn't great but it seemed to be positioning itself more towards cocktails and what beers they had were good. This limited range was echoed in the hotel's facilities outside of the rooms for a non-business traveller: restaurant, bar and gym essentially. If you are looking for swimming pool, sports facilities, or a resort style stay this hotel isn't for you and I don't know if it's suited to children; I didn't see any during my stay but I visited in the second week of September, so that's no surprise. If however you want a comfortable, convenient place to stay it's hard to beat.

We stayed her for 1 night over the weekend, its the second time we have stayed this year and yet again we had a very pleasant stay, we had a double room which was very clean and well equipped and a large bathroom. The staff are very friendly and always happy to chat to you, they even remembered us from a previous stay, we will always try and get a room here whenever we are visiting the area because you know what to expect. The facilities are good, great bar and food is excellent.
We stayed over a Saturday night while visiting relatives in the area. Very pleasant stay and we enjoyed a great swim on Sunday morning. Everything worked and the staff were friendly and helpful. Will certainly stay again.
The Urban Hotel was previously the Ramada and some places still refer to it as that. The hotel is well located for Grantham and the A1, but is far enough from the road to be restful.
The public areas are open and roomy, with comfortable furnishings. The food is well prepared and reasonably priced for a hotel, as are the drinks. The hotel has a good leisure centre with pool.
The bedrooms are comfortable with a decent work area. Some of the furnishings are looking a little worn and the shower could have better water pressure. Having said that, if you get this hotel at a good price it is a much better option than the nearby Premier Inn.
I cannot fault our stay at the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpfull and our room was very clean. We had the most beautiful view of the golf course from our room. The food was very good and I will definately return to this hotel when visiting Skegness again.
