“Perfect little place..”

Great little place with superb service from staff. Booked this room to attend a friends wedding in Lincoln. We arrived to a friendly welcome from staff. Presented with a nice clean and fresh room perfect for our requirements. Bed is OK, mattress a little uncomfortably but that could be personal taste. We easily recommend this b and b to friends, family and to anyone looking for a b and b in this area. We had the downstairs room which as stated in a previous review has access from the pub garden or the street. Absolutely no noise from pub (closing at 1am) or street during our visit. We arrived back to our room at 12:40am and no noise from surrounding areas. Breakfast was the perfect cure to a hangover. Nice full English and a coffee. The misses had a nice pot of tea with a 'propa big mug to enjoy it in. One recommendation for owner to consider doing is maybe hanging a large heavy curtain in front of the door leading onto the street as the door does have a slight gap letting in a draft. Stayed in more expensive places and this little place easily blow them out of the water with standards and customer service. Easily a 5 star.

“Great for a short stay”

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights Jan 2013. All the staff were very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was superb, nice and hot, (although a Full English breakfast was too much for me,). We stayed in the ground floor room, which was nice and clean, and bed comfy, Wi-fi & cable television in the room, tea & coffee making facilities. I did not hear any noise from the pub once in the room,( which can be accessed from the pub garden or direct from the street.) I would definately stay again at Queen in the West.

“Affordable and unusual”

We wanted somewhere reasonably priced for an overnight stay on our way back home from an expensive weekend in Suffolk. This suited us well. An unusual place to stay with basic but adequate facilities. We enjoyed looking round Lincoln Cathedral which isn't too far to walk to. Very good breakast. Friendly pub.

“Pleasant place to spend a night”

Fine if you just want a pleasant place to spend the night. Not for people who need luxury or for whom a hotel "is" the destination, but then those kind of people must be willing to spend more than this place charges. It was comfortable, homely, clean, nicely furnished with antique-style cupboard and tables etc. We did get noise from both the pub patrons #who weren't rowdy, we could just hear their muffled conversation# and from people occasionally walking by outside, but had a pretty good sleep in a comfortable bed despite this.
