“Basic Luxury”
The hotel is very nicely furnished and has a relaxing feel to it. The staff were ok - I can't really comment on them that much because they didn't really speak to me other than at check-in and check-out. I was a bit surprised that when I checked-in and checked-out there was no "enjoy your stay", "Let us know if you need anything" or "Was everything ok with your stay?" - I used to work in a hotel so I know that this should be something done almost automatically. I don't want fake friendliness but it makes all the difference when there are genuinely friendly staff. In terms of noise I was very pleasantly surprised (as it's on a busy main rd) to hear next to nothing from my room during the day and night. The breakfast was adequate and nothing more. I would have liked to have a cooked breakfast but it looked awful - shriveled sausages, plastic scrambled egg and dried baked beans.... so I didn't bother. It may look luxurious but when you look closer it's just a basic hotel...an upgraded travelodge.
“Fine, but not "City Centre"”
The situation of this hotel is in a rather desolate, isolated in a new residential and retail development. It is quite a hike from anywhere you might want to start sightseeing. At reception we were advised to take a taxi. You could take your car into the City where parking is scarce and expensive, or try to fathom out the circular bus from the shopping centre across the huge roundabout outside the hotel. The staff members are not very clued up about the bus, which in any case does not run in the evening. The "Welcome" screen on the TV screen in our room was full of spelling mistakes and grammatical howlers. Having said all that, the place is new, clean and comfortable, and whole dinner is not cordon blue, breakfast is more than adequate.
“Ideally situated for touring Lincoln.”
Ideally situated and very comfortable modern hotel, breakfast a little basic. £5 a night car parking not expected.
“A Scottish perspective on good hotel!”
Great experience in a brand new a very well appointed hotel, helpful staff only messed up by two false fire alarms in one day!!! probably teething problems? Only one lift working. Had room designed for disabled which was fine,,, However a bit concerned as it was on the 3rd floor and wonder how or what there plans are for evacuation of wheelchair bound persons in event of the two fire alarms.. DO NOT USE THE LIFTS IN EVENT OF FIRE
“Conveniently situated on edge of city centre.”
A functional hotel conveniently situated on the edge of Lincoln city centre. Friendly, helpful staff. Takes around five minutes to walk to the shopping centre and around fifteen minutes to walk to the old centre where the cathedral is siuated (if you can make the walk up Steep Hill!). Don't wory if you can't, you can take the regular Hopper Bus. There's also a Morrisons five minutes from the hotel.
“Lincoln Holiday Inn Express.”
This was our second stay at this hotel and we were happy with it. Being quite a new Hotel everything is fresh and new and the staff were pleasant. The only small complaint was that when we went for breakfast, all of the tables were covered in crumbs etc from previous guests. I counted 5 staff wondering around but not one seemed to take a cloth to a table and give it a quick wipe, I know you have to take your tray away after breakfast but to expect guests to wipe down tables as well is going to far.
“Check your bil”
Very clean although we had not requested an accessible room and would have preferred an ordinary double. We were charged the full rate on booking out despite querying bill. I had paid on initial booking with Expedia and should only have paid for our meal and parking. I was assured the receptionist was correct in charging the full amount. I contacted Expedia on returning home and they connected me to the hotel immediately. They could not explain the mix-up but my money was refunded within a week, after I sent copies of all my paperwork via recorded delivery. A bit disappointing and it spoiled our holiday
“To avoid”
Every member of staff seemed to be in a hurry and was fairly grumpy. If you want courteous people at reception, look somewhere else. I did not expect a charge for the car park and the machine that lets the car out did not work -every single day!-. I had either to go back or buzz reception to exit. I expected internet to be free in the rooms (it is free only in the lounge). The room was too small, best avoided if you suffer from even mild claustrophobia. Def overpriced and overrated.
“Great Hotel”
Wonderful hotel in a great location. If I return to Lincoln, I'd be very pleased to stay there again.
“As clean as you wish”
good location. extremely clean room.
