“Travelodge is a mixed experience.”
I stayed two nights from 9th to 11th November. Address not found by my TomTom. My triple room was very clean and recently decorated. It took ages to warm up, due to undersized electric wall heater, despite mild daytime weather. There is no air conditioning or fridge. The flatscreen TV picks up a good range of English language stations from the north, but not Channel 4. There is also a fascinating Irish language TV channel, with English subtitles. I was unable to get enough hot water for a bath or shower, despite asking the helpful receptionist to rectify. Water remained only warmish, and was unable to warm me up at the end of a hard day. This was a really very big disappointment, in that the problem wasn't rectified. The bathroom was very shiney and new looking with a slightly small bath and a wall mounted shower hose. My second night was an utter nightmare. It was the noisiest experience I have ever had when staying away from home. The room above seemed to be occupied by a group of American Wrestlers. They seemed to jump from the bed onto the floor and run across the room, repeatedly. This started at 1am and continued, hourly, till after 3am. I took no action because I actually felt rather frightened. The diner attached to the hotel opens from 8am till 10pm. It is not a good venue for vegetarians. I wasn't able to eat there. The Tesco superstore is within walking distance. Travelodge offers an economical package. I'd be prepared to stay here again!
