“Best for business travelers although tourists welcome”

Swissotel was a very good experience, I liked the fact that the staff learned one's name quite quickly, that they were welcoming at the front desk and that the wait staff were very quick at their duties, e.g. clearing used plates off the tables. The amenities were very good - dressing gown, slippers, coffee maker etc, welcoming platter. The adjoining spa provided a great massage!. What I did not enjoy was that the hotel is really in a business neighbourhood although it was not too far to get to the shopping areas by taxi.

Area recommendations
The Miraflores district is where most of the tourist hotels are located, and many nearby resturants and shops.
Must see
Go to the Larco Herrera Museum, it is fabulous and the displays of pottery, textiles and precious metal artifacts are unsurpassed. It was a private home before the last owner who was a major collector gave it over to the state. The grounds are beautiful with flowering plants and one could spend a lot of time there.
