We stayed in Levallois due to the very good pricing of the Mercure hotel. It is a 5 min walk to the Anatole France subway station and you will most probably have to switch lines 1 or 2 times to get to where you want to be in the city. Block 20-25 min to get into the heart of Paris.
The rooms were excellent - very comfortable bed, clean bathrooms. We had one privilege room and one standard room (for the kids). Privilege room is good sized, very modern TV, etc. Standard room is same but smaller and no coffee machine. Wifi is there, but a little painful to connect since we had to get a code from the front desk multiple times since the codes keep expiring. Only other thing to note is that some rooms are in a wing with no elevator so if you have bags you may want to ask specifically ahead of time where your room is going to be.
Overall, excellent hotel, very good, friendly and helpful staff. A little way out from the heart of Paris, but for the money it was well worth being a little out of the city.

More of a hostel than a hotel- a bed and wet room, but no kettle, etc, but otherwise perfectly adequate room. Bit small, but then it is fairly cheap and near the centre of Paris. Quite noisy when the front door is opened or anyone comes up the stairs- the street outside can also be noisy. 1/2 hour to Eiffel Tour by metro, estimated 1/2 hour walk to Arc du Triomphe. Only one parking space at EUR12 a day, so do book in advance if you need it (on street parking free at weekends). Wouldn't recommend if you are planning on driving to most places- get somewhere further out from the centre. We had a three day stop over after being elsewhere- did one day driving out, but mostly parked the car and metroed in. Good location if you are on public transport only. Staff were helpful.

This really is a small apartment with a kitchenette in the 16th away from the touristy area. It is not a fancy hotel and does not really have a lobby. If you are self-sufficient, on a budget and don't need to think you are the King or Queen of the May, it is fine. The room though small, was larger than many budget hotels I have been in Paris, and everything was new, worked, and was clean. Convenient to everything in that area (stores, restaurants, Metro)
This hotel was a great value and the "family room" was perfect for us (two adults traveling with a 5 year old). The proximity to the Metro also makes this hotel incredibly convenient since the Metro is the fastest and least expensive way to explore Paris. After a day seeing the sights we enjoyed a lovely (non-touristy) dinner at Pergola restaurant, recommended by the staff and just a short walk away.

My impressions from reading the reviews about hotels in Paris was that I shouldn't expect much. I was pleasantly suprised to find clean, comfortable accommodations for a good price at Hotel Briand. The staff was friendly and helpful, far beyond expectations. My bed was cozy and the bathroom was very nice and included a bathtub which was exactly what I needed after walking and biking around Paris all day.

It is not a fancy hotel, but if you need a good place to stay for a night and reasonable price, this should be your choice.
I rate it high for its reasonable price, the personnel who are polite and speak English and, and finally it is 5 min from the metro.
Really guys you come to Paris not to seat in hotel, it is just somewhere to get a good sleep, so you can have enough energy to explore the city next day.
