“One of our favorites in Spain”

The hotel is just south of the town of Lepe and is considered part of Lepe. It is right on the beach and we could step out of our room and be on the beach in less than two minutes. There was no internet access available, but the hotel staff was able to direct us for free wireless access to the restaurant next door "Mar la Kana." The room was nice and small. The bed (double beds) was uncomfortable, probably due to age. We had a small balcony and the bathroom was pretty nice. We were provided a small European breakfast each morning. There is a restaurant on site, but you have to notify the staff if you will be eating there for lunch or dinner as their cook will only cook if there are guests who have paid for full room and board (meals). The desk staff is very friendly and helpful to help you get around the area. The area was a little deserted as we were there during the start of 'low' season. Businesses and residential areas were pretty desolate. Mercadona grocery store) down the street was open and a great pizza place around the corner (Pizza Daniel) was also open. Pizza Daniel had very good pasta and pizza, good service and good prices.

Area recommendations
Palos De La Frontera and La Rabida have great historical sites related to Christopher Columbus worth going to. Both are within 45 minutes of Lepe. We drove to Portugal, which is within 20 minutes, and spent half a day there. I would not recommend Faro much as it gave us the creeps. We were quickly approached by a clean cut young man asking for money and we saw several other males 'scoping' us out as targets. We ate at a small cafe and hurried out of there. Ohlana in Portugal is a nice small town, no creepy vibes. The section of Lepe north of our hotel was also creepy as the same thing happened as in Faro.
