“What I expected for the price BUT the on-premise restaurant food terrible”

This hotel was just what I expected for the price range, maybe even a little better...was not disappointed in anythiung really, EXCEPT the restaurant that it had on premises. The food was TERRIBLE. Made me sick and I had to go out and get Pepto-Bismol afterward. Their idea of Chicken Picatta was chicken fingers with some kind of white sauce over them and capers. I was starving so I ate it but then got sick from it. Gross. Need a new chef, I think.

“Good choice for visiting your Fitchburg student”

The purpose of our visit was to attend an open house at Fitchburg State University. The location of the hotel was perfect. We were greeted by a friendly staff and experienced no issues with our room. We ate at Gazebo, the restaurant and it was a pleasant experience. My reservation, through Expedia, included breakfast for two adults. However, when I checked at the front desk, they said they did no have a record of this. I went over to the common area PC, accessed my Expedia itinerary, printed it out (on the printer they had available - nice to have) and the manager quickly acknowledged it and provided a voucher. Otherwise, the elevators were a bit "dark" and had some wear and tear, but they functioned okay. The pool was inviting, but a bit cool for this October evening. We skipped that and the hot tub, but we did utilize the gym space. Again, very good. So, overall, a satisfactory stay.

“Very good business hotel at a reasonable rate”

This is a sleekly modern, comfortable, clean, well appointed business traveler's hotel with a decent restaurant and surprisingly friendly staff. It is conveniently located with respect to major highways. I was just passing through and didn't look around town to see what is there. Everything was clean, in good operating condition and attrractive. Convenient parking.

“Very nice stay”

It all depends on where your room is. Our room was on the 7th floor (nice outside view) and was very quiet. However, that weekend, the hotel had a wedding and the reception went past 11pm. I heard another guest saying they were upset because their room was over the ballroom and they could hear and feel the music. Our stay was very nice. The maid service was very good and since I make it a habit to tip each morning instead of waiting until the end of the stay (keep the maid service in a good mood during my stay instead of afterward). As a result, we received a very nice thankyou note from the maid on the second day. My only gripe was I had forgotten my tooth brush and went to the front desk to see if they had any cheapo throwaway ones. They did but they charged me for the tooth brush. I've spent nights in other chain motels and if I ever needed something it was always on the house, which is a nice touch. All in all - I will stay there again.

“GOOD CHOICE FOR THE PRICE”

Easy access from the highway. Facilities were well maintained and clean. Very comfortable for people who like softer beds and pillows. AC was a bit loud, but worked fine. The restaurant was very good (we went only for breakfast). The pool was not heated, which was great for a refreshing break from those warm and humid days. Service was good. All in all, I enjoyed my stay and I would definitely recommend it.

Area recommendations

We went for a wedding, so we didn't do much except that. But, we took a few hours to shop. There is Marshall and TJ Maxx at walking distance, plus a decent size shopping mall closeby, with Macy's, J.C. Penny and Old Navy, among others. There are also a couple of good quick restaurants, such as Friendly's and other fast food chains. We also went to Parker's sugar shack for breakfast, which is located at about 30 minutes from there, in New Hampshire. Nice scenery out there. And very good food also. They accommodated 22 people in less than an hour, and we could not make reservation beforehand. Besides that, I did not stay for long enough to visit more.

“Not happy”

I was not happy that we ended up with ands extra guest due to car trouble and we could not get a roll away folding cart and had to sleep on the floor. The guest was a minor..

“Very nice room and surroundings”

The room was clean and comfortable. Desk crew went out of their way to help me get directions to airports and other places of interest. We've been staying here for many years and service has always been excellet. The one thing I wish would be changed is the temperature of the dining room. A person could turn into a popsicle in there. Hot food cools off before you can eat the 3rd bite!

“4 Points Gets It Right!”

Even though they are basically the only reasonable hotel in the area, they don't shrink from their efforts to present a very clean, very comfortable place to stay. The basic hotel amenities would pass even the most discerning traveler and they offer those "little" extras that make a huge difference when travelling: free internet in your room, free bottled water and free coffee in the morning ... These amenities make you feel that they actually understand their clients and what's important. Getting a great room rate is only the first step ... if you get nickled and dimed by all the "addiitional' fees for things you need is when you feel "used" by the hotel. 4 Points by Sheraton gets it right ... these "little" extras make all the difference in your perception of the hotel's efforts to make you feel comfortable and taken care of. FYI the restaurant and bar are great.
