Excellent and Friendly Service

Posted 28-Jul-2015
Pros: easily accessible, not overpriced, very friendly staff, quiet location, free WiFi
Cons: I wouldn't know what to suggest for improvement.
Location: The city centre of Nottingham with attractive sightseeing destinations is reachable within 30 min of driving.
The Link Hotel is conveniently located near Loughborough University (from which it also takes the free WiFi access). It is easily accessible through M1 and then a carriageway into town. The hotel itself, however, is very quiet (i.e., despite the good access via car there is no noise pollution from nearby traffic). There was plenty of parking space outside the door of the hotel (but I have no way of knowing how close to fully booked it was). I liked the interior very well. The rooms and the breakfast area are fitted with a notable love for details. The service was quite helpful and friendly; especially when I asked for some change for my 20 pounds bill, and when my keycard refused to work. (The latter may have been my fault, as the other items in my wallet may have demagnetized the keycard.) There was a modern flat screen television in the room, with a convenient choice of channels.

not as close to the university as appeared

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Pros: convenient to motorway and university
Cons: clean tub, so can bathe, not just shower
Location: Loughborough University
Visited Loughborough for a workshop at the sports facilities. At first it appeared I could walk to campus, but it's further from the main part of campus than appears on online map and the sports facilities are on the other side of campus. The room as nice enough, and I thought it would be quiet because it was on the back of the hotel but some other guests were very loud in the corridors. Unfortunately, the bathtub hadn't been properly cleaned and it was too late at night, but the time I discovered it, to request a change or cleaning; I did report it to the front desk when I checked out and the receptionist was apologetic. I didn't have breakfast, because the Harvester next door was offering essentially the same meal for half as much.

1 night stay over in Loughborough

Posted 04-Jul-2015
Pros: Great location comfortable and affordable
Cons: No not really ticked all the boxes
Location: Nr to the University and if needed a break stayover off the motorway, Loughboriugh town about 7min's drive or a shopping spree at Leicester.
Arrived on a Saturday late afternoon and check in was simple, didnt use the bar and dined in a near by Harvester in the evening which I would not recommend. Rooms were comfortable and very clean including toilet and bathroom, the beds were a little hard but slept well anyway, the reading light was not working on one side of the bedroom but was not an issue. Breakfast was brilliant plenty of choice and freshly cooked for a buffett style breakfast which was about the best we have had in any chain of hotels. All the staff was friendly and very helpful, This location was easy if visiting Loughborough Uni or just needing a place just off the M1 motorway only about 2mins off the junction.

Great hotel within walking distance of university

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Great room, great rates, great breakfast
Cons: Water pressure - twice during a shower, water stopped completely for a few seconds! Bed a bit too soft for me
We were in Loughborough for the University Open Day the next morning, and took a taxi to the hotel from the train station (3.3 miles away) for £10. Check-in was efficient, and the room was bright and clean. All the amenities you would need are in the room. After a good quality breakfast, we walked to the university - a good job too, as the queue of cars starts from just outside the hotel! I think we got to the university faster by foot! From leaving the hotel to sitting down for the first presentation (having stopped off for registration midway) took 25 minutes.

Had a lovely 1 night stay at this hotel and could not complain about anything! Staff were lovely, room was spotless and so easy to get to the University... this hotel is very cheap and should definitely be more than 3 star!

One of my favourite hotels

Posted 23-Jun-2015
Cons: A restaurant memu in the room would be great.
From check in to check out it was all good. we asked for a quiet area if at all possible. Many hotels ignore the special request notes but on two occasions the Link has given us what we've asked for. Well done.

Link Hotel - convenient and glorious for the price

Posted 19-Jun-2015
I had a brilliant experience at this hotel, the staff were very friendly, helpful and supportive. I checked in with ease, all staff were helpful and wanted to offer their best. The room was clean, tidy and very snazzy and colourful. The food in the hotel's restaurant was well cooked and tasted good, decently priced and the staff were very well spoken and provided an excellent service. The hotel was convenient in terms of parking and easy to reach from my business venue. Overall, brilliant stay - would highly recommend to anyone!

Pros: Good all round. Friendly staff, easy check in and out, large clean rooms, good parking facilities
Stayed here when visiting family in Loughborough. Nice clean hotel, not overpriced. Plenty of parking. Did not eat here but restaurant looked full. Would stay again and would recommend.

Friendly welcome, good value

Posted 04-May-2015 on Hotels
I was impressed. Generally. The only complaint would be that in a small gym two pieces of equipment weren't working. Could not fault the friendly welcome and it was a nice big room. It was good value.
