“Weekend break”
Had booked this hotel as a convenient location for stay, and the headline rate (knowing it was room only) was a good one. The hotel is well maintained and the leisure club is a good plus, BUT the downsides are that the on site food menus are expensive and you have to pay to park your car - for a location that is effectively on a part retail part industrial park location this is a bit steep.
“Very comfortable stay”
Lovely and comfortable rooms. Good parking and excellent out of town location. The only let down was the dining ... which was bit below par - but acceptable.
“Very good staff”
THe staff at the hotel were very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. I wanted the lounge menu and they were happy to let me have it in the restaurant. Lovely big rooms.
“Good for a business overnight, but..........”
Typically smart, clean, comfortable Marriott with friendly staff. However on a Sunday evening well outside the City and remote from anywhere was disappointed to find the hotel bar was closed on Sundays. Drinks [and food[ was available from the restaurant bar but missed the ambiance of a separate bar with sports tv - particularly as I wanted to watch McIlroy's final winning round! Definately need a car to get to/from here; great value for business travellers but not a holiday venue for sure!
“Impressive hotel for Leicester”
Great value for money if staying there midweek. Excellent facilities if you have time. Massive beds and spacious rooms. Bathrooms were clean with range of complimentary toiletries.
“Excellent hotel”
The Marriot is a lovely hotel on the outskirts of Leicester. We had a king size room which was very spacious and clean and had all the amenities that you could want for a stay. The reception staff was not particularly friendly but the staff in the restaurant for breakfast were very friendly and helpful. Excellent selection of food for breakfast too. Shame there wasn't a tv in bar downstairs as my husband wanted to watch one of the world cup matches on one of the afternoons that we were there! Great shopping centre nearby too.
“exceptional service by the reception staff”
Have to write few words to commend a young lady who checked me in on Sun. 11th oct. I have made a mistake when booking the date and she was extremely accomodating and completely took care of the case!!! I believe her name was "Georgina or Georgia". I would like to thank her and compliment the hotel on "taking care" of their returning customers. THANK YOU!
“obliging”
Reception organised connecting room at short notice when we changed our guest numbers. Kindly upgraded us when noted our double birthday and anniversary celebrations and added complimentary bottle. Restaurant organised our evening meal without fuss considering all the permutations and minor errors for 15 people. Good and adequate choice of buffet both evening and breakfast. Standard rectangular pool but just the right temperature and very pleasant,bright and clean.
“Good base for a visit to the Leicester area”
A comfortable, modern hotel in a rather industrial location. The rooms are large and well appointed but the restaurant menu appeared limited if you are not particularly keen on Thai cuisine (also on the expensive side). A word of caution if you like a quiet room - a wedding party was in full swing until 1.00am on the Saturday night that we stayed and the disco was quite audible in our 2nd floor room.Check when signing in and make sure that your room is away from the noise if that is your preference. Other than that, no problems at all and the breakfast buffet offered a good choice of hot and cold food.
