Fantastic hotel. Had stayed there previously for 3 days on business trip. This time was a family trip. Lovely pool and spa area. Fantastic food in the hotel itself and also the Claret Jug. Really lovely public spaces. Not cheap - and the wine in particular is a bit pricey - but you know what are getting with de Vere (have stayed in 2 others). Thoroughly recommend.
Only downsides of the stay really was the fact that I'd booked with Expedia for £xx for the night, and Expedia then told hotel it was £15 more. Fortunately I had my booking details with me stating the original quote and the hotel resolved it, but I'm not v happy with Expedia.
Stayed overnight with my wife, attending Leeds First Direct Arena, and doing some Xmas shopping. The Marriott could not be better placed for central Leeds, and its shopping areas, and it's a 15 minute walk , downhill from the Arena. We had no complaints with the staff, who were all friendly and quietly efficient. Concierge, Reception, Cleaning and Restaurant staff all presented themselves very well. The hotel's public spaces and rooms were clean, and everything worked that needed to work. Our only minor gripes were, ( as elsewhere ) the cost of wi-fi, and a curious mattress, whose central sag led to us sliding together throughout the night.
Very nice hotel, very nice surroundings and locating in an excellent area being only a 15 minute bus ride from Leeds City centre, the staff were very friendly and the room was of good quality for a standard room, also the breakfast was very good, we would definitely use this hotel again.
The hotel was lovely, clean, nice rooms and accommodating staff. Great complimentary breakfast was offered. Would definately recommend. Each member of our party of 7 has said that they would like to return.
Web stayed the one night at this hotel and had a very comfortable stay. The rooms are a good size, clean and well furnished. The bathroom was spotless with a great shower and soft, fluffy and large towels. Our room was at the back of the building overlooking fields and there was no noise whatsoever so we had a perfect night's sleep.
In the morning we paid the extra for a cooked breakfast. I though the price a bit steep but after eating the very tasty and filling breakfast I've no complaints. Service at breakfast was excellent.
I would definitely stay here again if I needed to be on the east side of Leeds.
