We found this hotel through Expedia, read some reviews and decided to book this hotel and flight package.
The hotel is very clean, friendly and small, just 12 rooms. It helped that the staff didn't have many rooms to look after, the level of service from the staff was fantastic, They don't speak English often by the sounds of it, but they coped well!
We had a garden view room, which was very nice, right next to the honesty kitchen, more about that later!
The room has a comfy bed, although no wardrobe or draws, there are wooden shelves, I thought the room complimented the view of the garden. Thick wood shelves, bedside boxes but no draws.
The honesty kitchen is a great idea, although there is a camera watching you.
The kitchen works on the premise of you writing down anything you have on a slip of paper. The paper then gets taken to reception and recorded against your room.
It is a great idea and works well.
Breakfast was ok, very European, nothing cooked though, which was fine.
We had dinner there one night, there were four courses, all of it was lovely. It was €30 each.
On the whole, I would recommend this hotel.
The only downside is that it is difficult to find. Google Earth the hotel and surrounding area, it helps!!
If you don't have a car this hotel can be tough to get to. We made the mistake of taking a train to Valmadrera thinking we could catch a cab to the hotel. We arrived on a Sunday and there were no cabs or bus service. We ended up walking a mile and a half to the hotel dragging our suitcases. In addition, it happened to be over 90 degrees out. My wife was ready to kill me when we finally got there.
I liked the hotel, but would never go there again during the summer months. It did not have an air conditioner or a fan. The balcony we had opened on a common balcony that other rooms could come out on. It was so hot we didn't care we slept in our underwear with the doors open. lol
Located in Valmadrera, on the shores of the Lecco Lake, the Bellavista Hotel welcomes you in a late 19th century building …More
We'd made a last minute decision to attend a week long sporting event near Lecco that our son's were participating in and with very few options remaining chose this hotel. Turned out to be an excellent choice for us. We found Lecco to be a charming and relaxing place with beautiful lake and mountain views. The hotel complemented this in a good location across the street from the lake promenade and 5 minutes walk from many good restaurants.
This villa was amazing with plenty of terraces and spectacular views but there was 4 weddings while we stayed there - we were there for 8 days - if the weddings start around 2pm they are finished by 9pm which is fine but the ones that start at 6pm go till 1am in the morning so it is a little noisy but shouldnt bother the night owls - both my husband and i like to go to sleep around 11pm esp after long days of sightseeing etc -the weddings are held on the large terraces within hearing distance from all the rooms! Breakfasts were delicious on the terrace with beautiful views and lovely and quiet esp after the weddings!! Good coffee too which is not always easy to find in Europe!!
We drove around Lago di Como, based in this hotel. The hotel is very well located to Lecco, driving minutes to Belaggio and of course to the city of Como a bit further.
Friendly staff, decent breakfast, beautiful morning views from our balcony.
Extremely clean and operational hotel....wi-fi was a bit weak in the room, only detail.
A lovely, modern b&b set at the foot of the mountains in Lecco. The rooms are of a fantastic standard and the views are stunning. The owners couldn't be more accommodating and were always there if we needed anything. The photos don't do it justice! Can't rate it highly enough.
A dramatic, fjordlike setting below steep mountain cliffs adds much to this commercial town on the eastern 'leg' of Lake Como, often known as the Lago di Lecco. It's a fine excursion base served by cable-car. The town is reached by a fortified medieval bridge over the River Adda, the lake's sole outflow. Villa Manzoni (now a museum) was the birthplace of 19th-century Italian novelist Alessandro Manzoni.
