“very pretty place”
look out for and enjoy the sugar cane train
“I will be staying there next time.”
We stayed at the Anchorage Beach Resort because we needed to be close to Lautoka. Our room had an ocean view and it was just a hop, skip and a jump to the lovely infinity pool, where the kids played all afternoon. The staff were very friendly and obliging. There was a good atmosphere at the cafe each night with live music. The food was good and they had plenty of things for our kids to choose from.
“Great value for Money! Staff are great!”
We read so many reviews on tripadvisor and were so worried about going to this resort. The staff are wonderful. What a great experience. So relaxing, YES the train does come through the resort during the night and during the day but it is exciting and it really gives you the fiji experience. Shopping at Nadi and Lautoka is very stressful, it is lovely coming back to the resort where friendly faces greet you and you can relax. We highly recommend this location. Special thanks to Jo and Veri and all the wonderful staff at the restaurant who make you feel so at home!
“definitely not going back again!!”
upgraded online from a montainview to a oceanview room only to be disappointed terribly- Air conditioner, TV, SPA wouldn't work, One light globe missing and forget about light covers. feel privileged to share your bath with few cockroaches. got shoved around to three rooms in one week when we complained. far from the main road and Nadi staff are really friendly though.
“Beautiful natural area.”
Staff all friendly and co-operative. Grounds beautiful. Building could do with some maintenance. Fire alarm in room not working ,also 1 light globe missing. We had wonderful views. Breakfast not fancy but adequate. Evening meal had plenty of variety at reasonable cost.. Walk along train line to native village interesting. In other direction walk to Marina worthwhile.Resort a long walk from main road, but staff will drive you there at a small cost. From there buses to Lautoka or Nadi run every 10 minutes. Overall opinion was a good deal for the price. Would recommend as an inexpensive resort.
“Glorious venue, room a bit shabby”
Stunning location, the room could do with a bit of a tidy up. Things like a curtain with hooks missing on the end and hanging down, a lamp shade missing off one bedside lamp and the bathroom needed a good make over and clean. The walls of the unit needed a paint to freshen the place up. A smoke alarm was lying in the wardrobe with out a battery in it. A little attention to detail would have fixed all these first impressions. Apart from the room the outside frontage, view and bar and restaurant and pool were top notch. The staff in the office were good and the waiting staff in the restaurant were typically Fijian, very relaxed and casual which we learned to accept after being in Fiji for a while. The sugar cane trains passing in the middle of the night were quite novel and if anything added to the interest of the place. Such a pity, with a little attention to detail this place which is in a wonderfull location could have been one of the better places we stayed in Fiji.
“Lovely setting”
Good range of accommodation options. Great service by waiter Joseph in restaurant
“One night In Lautoka”
We stayed in Anchorage Resort Lautoka for one night and not sure if we would go back the hotel staff were very friendly and we got some nice arrival drinks, BUT the hotel room was dirty, you had to hold the shower head when having a shower and you had to keep adjusting the water temperature to keep it the same. We had complimentary breakfast in the morning but my partner found a few hairs in his ommelette so we both kind of lost our appitites. We wish that we could say that we had an amazing night and i'm sorry that we couldnt, I hope that whoever goes there has a better experience than us.
“Friendly staff”
This was our first time to Fiji so unsure what to expect we had a fantastic time the staff could not do enough to make your stay pleasurable. We took the day trip offered by the resort to their sister island and spent the day snorkelling and sun bathing on the beach, a must do for everyone. The resort is fairly remote but that was its charm a walk 10 minutes one way took you to the marina and another resort 10 minutes the other to a traditional Fijian village where you were welcomed unreservedly. The sugar can train runs a few times a day which some might not like but we found it interesting and did not bother us at all. Food & drinks in resort was varied, well priced and tasty. We all did not want to leave and would definately return
“Likely to return”
We were happy and comfortable with the bure accomodation which was spacious and airy and the furniture and shutters were lovely and very fijian. Much better than the hotel room style of accomodation even though they were closer to the pool. Dining outdoors was very pleasant as we were serenaded by three fijian musicians while the cool sea breezes and coconut palms swayed around us. The only criticism we have is the poorest housekeeping and maintenance of the bure. The floor, shelf and shutters were quite dusty and some shutters need repairing. Twice our bed was not made. The first time this was ratified on advice by us but noone came the second time this happened.
