“VERY GOOD BUDGET HOTEL”
This was the first time we had stayed at this hotel. Last year we stayed at the Plaza the sister hotel and we enjoyed our stay at both. The staff were extremly friendly and the comps were brilliant. Hotel could do with a little updating but for a budget hotel. We could not have asked for more. We will be returning Jan 2010 and will be staying here again. Very good value for money and an excellent buffet at the 777 . A wide selection of dishes and once again great value with the comps that you recieve.Would recommend to travellers on a budget!
“Great place yet again”
The Vegas Club is an great place to stay, perfect location, it's improved from last time with the addition of a fast food outlet, where the hot dogs and the soup were a regular for me. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and although it's not the most happening place it's so close to other places that there's plenty going on. And with the deuce convenient at $20 for 5 days travel, which included getting us to the airport from the station behind Binions on the 108 bus, and the Ace bus is a good addition to the service, hence, getting up to the main strip was easy. Thoroughly recommend this place, cheap and cheerful, would go there again myself as I did this time
“vegas on the cheap”
The Vegas club is cheap but for the price I have absolutely no complaints. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and a decent size. the only downside was they got a bit noisy with the bands playing on Fremont street. The casino attached is smokey, dingy and honestly kinda cool. Every morning I would get up play 5 cent video poker for a bit and would get a drink brought to me within minutes. The location is ace, forget the strip if you come to Vegas to gamble head downtown. All the best value casinos are within walking distance of this one (especially recommend the El Cortez for blackjack and roulette they pay out 3:2 on $3 blackjack). Loads of great free entertainment on Freemont street literally just outside the hotel. Its not the lap of luxury but seriously if your spending to much time in your room in Vegas your doing it wrong. Excellent value for people on a budget :)
“Great place for those on a budget”
Great location, fremont street is so cool, way more interesting then the main strip, just be careful if you wonder off the main street in downtown, its not mega scary, just keep your wits about you. Hotel was great value for money. Had no problems with noise or cleanliness. Enjoyed our stay.
“Excellent”
We have visited Las Vegas 3 times in the last 4 years. In 2006 we stayed in the Orleans which was excellent, in 2008 we stayed at the Luxor which was fine. For what we want in Las Vegas a clean room and good bathroom facilities the Vegas Club suited us to the ground for a much reduced cost of the other two. It was very, very good for the cost and met our needs which was to be a base to lay our heads, what more do you want in Vegas. The staff were helpful and friendly and for those who really find it important the TV worked. The internet station was handily placed and with a printer was very useful. The downtown area is superb for a senior such as myself because there is an excellent combination of Casino's, (such as Binions and California), with a good mix of dining and entertainment right on our doorstep with no hassle to get there and, with the added bonus of the Freemont experience lightshow. Would be more than happy to stay here again.
“No that bad”
We had a one bedroom suite booked but on arrival at the hotel we were given a basic (dirty) room. On returning to the front desk we were told that only a basic room was showing on the computer as being booked. We had payed for a one bedroom suite so were adament that they sort it out. The guy on the desk said he would have to speak to his 'boss' who was based in the Plaza. After faxing the 'boss' our copy of our booked details, we were eventually given the suite we had booked, which was a very nice room. We only stayed overnight so can't comment on food etc. Good location for taking in all of the Freemont street casinos.
“Basic but good value for budget travellers.”
Vegas Club is old by Las Vegas standards and is in need of an overhaul. Nevertheless, for the price they charged the room in the South Tower was ok. North Tower rooms are better. Noise from Fremont Street can be a problem. Only one of the two lifts was working, but the Service Lift was made available ! Has a great little diner. Casino is tired looking now but you are very close to the action in all other downtown casinos. Perhaps not best suited to first time Vegas visitors, but ok for the experienced Vegas budget traveller. I have stayed in three other downtown casinos and this was the least presentable - but it was the cheapest !
“pleasantly surprised”
pleasantly surprised as this is an old downtown hotel but perfectly located for fremont street and our room was clean functional and tidy. Hotel itself is dated but overall for the price we paid happy that this hotel was value for money. Staff were helpful and friendly too.
“Not very IMPRESSED”
The hotel is barely a hotel more like a doss house bad fitted carpets in hallway and we havnt got in the room yet..Aircon that didnt... noises all day and night from everyone elses aircon (did they not work either.Dirty windows that dont open.Room left open by cleaner after cleaning .Stains on carpets.
