“Stratosphere...Well worth the visit”

Great room, terrific mountain view. Room very clean, and kept clean by housekeeping staff. Check in and check out, both quick and efficient, first class communication with guests. Casino staff were great, I was made to feel very special, and very welcome. Cannot speak highly enough. Had a top class holiday. This was my 22nd trip to Las Vegas in 9 years, my first time at the Stratosphere, but not my last. This will now always be my first choice.

Area recommendations
The Strip, full of life 24/7. Downtown, old Vegas, with the brilliant light show. Fashion Show Mall, for super shopping

“Love it here :)”

We have stayed here a few times & we love it so much that's why we keep coming back! We were really impressed with our room as we were not expecting to have a separate Living space! It was fab :)

Area recommendations
Any where on the strip is good! If it's not on the strip it may be a little too far out!
Getting around
The best & cheapest way is the DEUCE bus!
Shopping
The shopping is amazing here! There is lots of malls in nearly every hotel! The fashion show mall & miracle mile shops at planet Hollywood are fab! The best designer outlet is at the north end of the strip

“Well priced hotel but a little out the way”

I found that this hotel had everything that you would want with a large casino and amazing night time views from the Air Bar 107 floors up, however it is a little way away from the centre of the strip but you can get the Las Vegas strip bus to and from it rather than using the taxi cabs which are expensive). As with most Las Vegas casinos you have a number of restaurants and shops and you could spend your entire holiday in the hotel. Staff were all very friendly and very helpful. Would stay there again - out of the way but found this cheap. Thrill seekers will relish the rides at the top of the hotel

Area recommendations
If you want to spend most of your time shopping or checking out other hotels and casinos I would suggest somewhere central on the strip
Getting around
Pay $7 for the Las Vegas 24 hour ticket - the bus runs 24 / 7 and stops are clearly announced - you will want to check out shows and other casinos - half the fun is checking out the amazing insides of other hotels. There are several half price ticket booths around the strip which sell tickets for excursions and shows with up to 20 - 50% discount.
Must see
I was impressed by the Purple Reign Prince tribute show that was amazingly realistic and would go again. Saw Jerry Springers Price is Right and seeing the man himself was amazing as he is very funny and charismatic - the fact that you can also win prizes is a bonus - the girl opposite me got called up and had won $1200 but lost on a gamble to double up! Two amazing american TV institutions for the price is right - doesn't get better than that! See at least one show because most are amazing but for the price you would expect nothing less!
Nightlife
If you hang around some of the hotels you may get a complimentary ticket to get into a club - however at $7 a drink you might be better off taking advantage of the open bar where fro $20 your can drink all you want.

“First Time”

We stayed in the Grand Suite - King with Sleeper Sofa. Everything was great and we were really pleased with the room, cleanliness, etc... The only problem was the Sleeper Sofa was broken. Otherwise, we were pretty happy with the hotel and room.

“Good time in Vegas”

The hotel met all expectations. It was a great deal, The restaurants within the hotel were open (unlike where we stayed last year) and affordable. The lounge had live entertainment. The rooms were updated, clean and functional. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Valet was fast so getting in and out of the hotel was quick and simple.

Dining
You must splurge once and dine in the top of the world restaurant one evening. The view of Las Vegas was amazing. The food and service were also great.

“Best hotel on the strip for the price”

Great place to stay, fun machines and clean rooms with a good staff. It's at the far end of the strip away from most all the glitter and people, good or bad is up to you, (we were there during the off season so only the other end of the strip was very busy). The neighbor hood outside was not the best but I never felt in danger but kept a close eye out so as to not be in danger, because it's there I think. Being away from the active places was not so bad fom me because I don't mind walking. It took me 2 1/2 hours to walk one way of the strip north to south, I am a fast walker. Me and my wife did the bus pass thing and it was very easy. Get on the bus with seven dollars and you get a 24 hour unlimited pass. The bus (one every 20 mins or so stop all the way up and down on the strip and goes to Freemont street. (Freemont street is a blast and a must see. When I go back some day I will stay there again unless I find one of the big name hotel casino's at the other end of the strip for the same price. The bus pass cost will not matter because no matter where I stay I will need it everyday to see all the sites.

Area recommendations
Stay a a big name hotel ON the strip or IN freemont street for safty reasons and use the bus for cheep cleen transportation.

“Great value for the money”

I was very comfortable at this hotel. The neighborhood wasn't wonderful and so I was careful about travelling at night but the bus stopped right by the door and it wasn't an issue. The only thing that I really missed was a coffee maker. I would definitely go back and I'd recommend it to anyone who was looking for a less expensive alternative to the mid-strip hotels.

“If you want a view of LV from the top, the hotel stay includes the ride up to the observation deck.”

Hotel reeks of smoke (cigarettes). We had to walk through the casino everytime we needed to go to our room and had to smell the smoke. Otherwise, it was decent stay. It's too far to walk into the centre of the Strip.

“Newer rooms are great!”

Went to LV to celbrate my 40th. Made all reservations through Expedia. They told me to contact the Stratosphere directly to request to have all 4 of our rooms together. I did just that. Upon checking in, we were told they could not guarantee that all 4 rooms would be together--even though I was given that guarantee over the phone by one of their very own employees! We ended up being on 3 separate floors. Not ideal, but not the end of the world. Check-in took longer than expected. Other than that, our stay at the Stratosphere was wonderful. The newer rooms are beautiful (Do NOT stay in the other tower of rooms...VERY out-dated). Breakfast buffet was superb. Roxy's Diner had great food and service. Excellent pizza in the Tower PIzza restaurant. We liked that we were not in the middle of the strip, so the minute we walked out of our hotel we weren't surrounded by craziness. This hotel is the ideal location if you want to experience the strip AND head downtown to Fremont Street...it's right in the middle of both locations. Looking foward to our next trip...

Events and shows
We saw Terry Fator's Christmas show--outstanding! Worth every penny! Also saw Cirque du Soleil Mystere--amazing show! Again, worth every penny! Family friendly.
